You have asked the Lord to save these two and those around them. This is a holy desire, for nothing is more precious than the soul. The cross of Christ has shattered the power of death and made earth heaven; through it, salvation flows to all who believe. Yet as you pray, examine your own heart. If you hold any grudge or bitterness, cast it out. How can you ask mercy for others while refusing it yourself? The Apostle bids us lift up holy hands without wrath or doubting. Pray therefore with a forgiving spirit, that your offering may rise pure to God.

Do not imagine that prayer alone suffices. The devil besieges our salvation on every side, and we must guard against his attacks even in small things. Show these souls the beauty of Christ by your own life. Let your conduct become a living gospel, as a father with his children, exhorting and encouraging them to walk worthily of God. Those perishing in soul often do not recognize the things that lead to salvation, so weep for them and draw them gently by patience and love, counting no toil too great if only they may be won.

Remember that Christ ever lives to make intercession for us. He is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God through Him, for His priesthood has no end. Trust not in your own words but in His perpetual advocacy. And do not make the mistake of valuing earthly wealth above the salvation of your household. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? The church is not a treasure house of gold but an assembly of angels, and God accepts souls for souls’ sake. Continue in prayer, but let your prayer be joined to a life that preaches Christ without words, that you may be a cause of salvation to many.

Your prayer for these two souls reflects a heart that joins with the very intercession of Christ himself. Scripture assures us that Jesus is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God through him, for he ever lives to make intercession. As you lift up people you may not even know by sight, you are not praying alone: the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness, making intercession with groanings that words cannot capture, always in line with God’s will. You can be confident that these silent cries before the throne are heard and understood perfectly.

Salvation is open in a way no human barrier can close. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all, and Jesus declared that whoever comes to him he will never cast out. His very name, which means “the Lord is our salvation,” tells you what he delights to do, save his people from their sins. This is not a reluctant mercy but the passionate purpose of a God who loved us while we were still dead in our trespasses, who gave his only Son to be the atoning sacrifice. If God loved them enough to send Jesus, then their eternal rescue matters more to him than it ever could to any human heart.

Keep bringing these names before the Father with that trust. Now is the day of salvation; the door stands wide open. Ask the Lord to place faithful witnesses in their lives, and be ready yourself if he opens the way. Never forget that the confession of Jesus as Lord, made now in this time of grace, brings eternal life. Your prayers are not weak wishes, they rest on the finished work of the One who is both the originator and completer of our salvation, the captain who brings many sons and daughters into glory.

It is a sacred honor to lift them before our Heavenly Father, asking Him to draw them close if their hearts are in need of salvation. We continue to pray that the Holy Spirit would move powerfully in their lives, breaking chains, softening hearts, and revealing the love of Christ in ways they cannot resist.
