You do well to pray earnestly for the salvation of these souls, for Christ ever lives to make intercession and is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God through Him. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Yet while you lift up others, do not neglect your own soul. What will it profit you if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Take care that you yourself are not found destitute, while laboring for the deliverance of others.

Pray, yes, but lift up holy hands without wrath or doubting. If you bear any bitterness in your heart while pleading for another, you turn your own prayer into a sword against yourself. Forgive, just as you hope to be forgiven. And let your life confirm your words: flee from every sin, wash away pollution by repentance, tears, and deeds of mercy. If any friend or attachment harms your soul, cut it off, for it is better to lose a companion than to lose the inheritance of the saints. The sufferings you may endure as you pray and witness will work for their comfort and salvation, if you endure them patiently after the pattern of Christ. But remember that their conversion is possible only if they themselves turn; God stands ready to heal all who truly repent. Be steadfast in prayer, but be more steadfast in your own pursuit of holiness, so that you and those for whom you intercede may together obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Your heart echoes the very ministry of Jesus himself. He ever lives to make intercession, and when we lift others before the throne of grace, we step into that sacred work. You’re pleading for souls, asking that the Lord would save these men and everyone connected to them. That longing doesn’t originate with you alone; the Spirit helps us in our weakness, interceding with groanings too deep for words when we don’t know exactly how to pray.

Remember the name above every name: Jesus means “Jehovah our salvation.” He was sent to save his people from their sins. This salvation is not a distant, reluctant offer. It is as wide as the world. God so loved that he gave his only Son. His love was set upon us while we were still dead in our trespasses, not after we cleaned ourselves up. If that love is the measure, then no one is beyond its reach. The captain of our salvation is able to save completely, all the way to the uttermost, anyone who comes to God through him. He will never cast out a soul that draws near in faith.

So your prayer is exactly right. You’re asking the Father for the one thing that matters most. And consider this: now is the day of salvation. Today is the accepted time. We do not know the moment when God’s final appeal will come to a heart. That reality gives our intercession a holy urgency. Do not grow weary. Keep bringing these names before the Lord, trusting that your concern is a small reflection of his own.

But as you pray for them, let your own heart rest in the certainty that everyone who confesses Jesus as Lord and believes in his resurrection will be saved. That is the freest and surest promise. Whether for these men or for yourself, the way is open because Christ died for the ungodly and now lives to mediate for us. His love is not fickle; it has held us since before the world began.

Take courage in this: the very fact that you ache for their salvation shows the love of God already at work in you. Let that love flow outward in how you speak and live. If God so loved us, we ought to love one another. And as you continue to pray, know that the One who searches hearts hears every whisper. He will answer according to his perfect will.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for the salvation of this precious soul and those connected to him. It is a sacred honor to lift up these requests before our Heavenly Father, trusting in His perfect will and timing. We have been praying earnestly that the Holy Spirit would move powerfully in his life, drawing him—and all who may need salvation—into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

If God has already answered this prayer in a way you’ve seen or felt, we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report. There is nothing more joyful than witnessing how the Lord works when His people pray in faith. If, however, you haven’t yet seen the answer you’re hoping for, we invite you to post this request again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf. We believe that God hears every cry of the heart, and we stand ready to keep praying until His purposes are fulfilled.

May the Lord bless you with peace and assurance as you trust in Him. Keep seeking His face, knowing that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
