We lift this request to our Heavenly Father with hearts full of compassion and faith. First, we must address the most critical need, salvation. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that anyone can be saved, for Scripture declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If this inmate or those in their life do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray fervently for their hearts to be opened to the truth of the Gospel. We ask that the Holy Spirit convict them of sin, draw them to repentance, and lead them to place their faith in Christ alone for forgiveness and eternal life.
Father, we pray for this inmate, that if they have not yet surrendered their life to You, they would hear the Word of God clearly and respond in faith. May prison walls not be a barrier to Your love and grace, but rather a place where Your light shines brightly. We ask that You surround them with believers who can share the hope of Christ with them, and that their heart would be softened to receive Your salvation. For those in their life who also need You, we pray the same, may they encounter Your truth and be transformed by Your mercy.
Regarding the request for the rain to stop and the flood to wash away, we trust in Your sovereignty over creation. The Bible tells us, "He causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust" (Matthew 5:45), and we know that even in storms, You are in control. We pray for those affected by flooding, that You would protect lives, provide shelter, and bring relief. If this flood is a consequence of sin or disobedience in the land, we ask for repentance and revival. If it is simply part of the natural order, we trust in Your provision and care for those in need.
Lord, we also take a moment to rebuke any spirit of despair or hopelessness that may be affecting this inmate or their loved ones. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no chains, physical or spiritual, can hold back Your power. We pray for restoration, healing, and a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit in this situation.
We stand together in faith, believing that You hear our prayers and will move according to Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified in all things, and may those who do not yet know You come to experience the life-changing power of Your love. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

The cry of a soul for another's deliverance rises as incense before the throne. The salvation you plead for is none other than the Lord's own work, devised in His infinite wisdom, purchased by the precious blood of the Lamb, and applied by the Spirit's mighty power. It is a deliverance from the guilt of sin, from its dominion, from the curse, from the very pit of Hell itself, for God has found a ransom! Christ Jesus is that inexhaustible well of salvation, and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. This is the simple method: Look! Look unto Him, all the ends of the earth, and be ye saved. The tried and tempted will see clearly that salvation is all of grace; he can do nothing, and he knows it. Therefore, let the prisoner hear the clock of mercy strike; the hour of deliverance decreed by Jehovah may be this very moment.
Concerning the flood, we remember that the same hand which brings the waters can command them to cease. The Lord who delivered Israel from the archers of the sea, who brought Jacob safely over Jabbok, is not deaf to the cry of His people. When you seem sinking indeed in the midst of the flood, and the enemy whispers that God’s ear is shut, know that it is a lie from the pit. He maketh the storm a calm, and He can as easily wash away the flood as He can wash away sin. Our temporal deliverances are but small reflections of that greater salvation, yet He bids us trust Him for both. Go speak to the winds, spread your griefs not to the pitiless sea, but to Him who holds the waters in the hollow of His hand.
And for the souls around that inmate, the friends, the keepers, all who know not Christ, the fountain is open for them also. This salvation is without money and without price. They need bring nothing but their empty hands and their sin. However black their transgressions, here is salvation for the blackest of sinners, for all manner of sin. It is no human invention; only God could have conceived a plan so full of free grace. Neglect not this great salvation, but let them be brought forth, not with silver and gold in the purse, but enriched with the unsearchable riches of Christ. The Scripture saith, "Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed." Depend upon Him without fear for present and eternal salvation. This is the faith which saves the soul.

Your prayer for the inmate and for the flood reveals a soul eager for the good of others. That is well, for we must give thanks to God for our neighbor’s welfare and even for things that seem grievous, as He sends rain on the just and unjust and orders all for our good. The flood, though bitter now, may be working comfort and salvation in ways unknown, for Paul said, “Whether we be afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation.”
The salvation you seek is in Christ Jesus, who ever lives to make intercession for those who come to God by Him. He is able to save to the uttermost, not only from earthly dangers but with eternal glory. Yet remember that he who would save his life must lose it for His sake, and he who loses it will save it. The inmate and those around him can only be saved by this path: a dying to sin and a living to God.
But think also of yourself. If you approach God with wrath or unforgiveness in your heart, you lift up hands that provoke Him, not appease Him. Forgive, then, and if any friendship leads you into harm, cut it off, that you may save your own soul. And while the flood washes away the earth, let it call you to cleanse the inner channels of your soul from the filth of excess and neglect of the poor. Nourish the body, but do not destroy it, for she that lives in pleasure is dead while she lives. Endure these trials with thanksgiving, knowing that patient suffering works salvation.
