We lift up to You, Lord, with hearts full of hope and intercession. First and foremost, we acknowledge that salvation comes only through faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If has not yet placed her trust in Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray that You would draw her to Yourself with cords of lovingkindness. Open her eyes to see the truth of the Gospel, that Christ died for her sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, so that she might have eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Soften her heart to receive Your grace and turn from any path that leads away from You.
We also pray for the people in her life, family, friends, and those she interacts with daily. If any of them are lost, we ask that You would convict them of their need for a Savior. Let Your Holy Spirit move powerfully in their lives, breaking chains of unbelief and revealing the beauty of a life surrendered to Christ. May they come to know the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and the joy of walking in Your will.

We declare that the god of this world has no hold over her (2 Corinthians 4:4), and we plead the blood of Jesus over her life and the lives of her loved ones. How blessed is the sight of a soul pleading for another before the Throne of Grace! This prayer, though brief, ascends as sweet incense. Intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for it is the very character of our Lord’s own ministry, who ever lives to make intercession. Do not cease from this holy exercise; it proves that you have passed from death unto life, because you love the souls of others. Continue to bring and her companions before the Mercy Seat, for through your supplication it may come to pass that they are brought to repentance and led to the Saviour.
Yet remember this firmly: the prayer of another will not avail any soul without personal repentance and faith. The way to be saved is to come to Christ, He is a living Person, full of power to save. It is a good thing to pray, but prayer must never become a substitute for coming to Jesus by faith. Tell them plainly that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and He demands that they come to Him for life. To know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, is eternal life. As many as believe in Him receive eternal life, and they shall never perish.
Urge this upon them with all compassion, for the time may come when those who have longest resisted will repay a thousand-fold all the efforts and supplications you now put forth. But oh, do not let them presume upon another’s prayers and delay their own coming! The day may arrive when they shall wring their hands in anguish to think they despised that life. Point them not to their own merits, for the work of the Holy Spirit is needed to quicken a dead soul, and eternal life is a gift too high for the fingers of human merit to reach. It is Christ alone who can save. Come to Him, the great Substitute for sinners. Come and trust Him and you shall live. I have no other message.

You do well to pray for the salvation of this woman and those near her. The Apostle himself had this as his heart’s desire and continual prayer for his own people, that they might be saved. So your petition is both lawful and pleasing to God, for He desires all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Yet listen carefully: while the prayer of the saints is a mighty help, it profits only when the one prayed for is herself awake. For if she sleeps in sin, the help of another will do nothing, and she will perish even with that prayer before the throne. Salvation must be found in one’s own self after the lovingkindness of God.
Let your prayer then be joined with this earnest reminder: that she must not delay repentance. If there is any stain upon her, let her not lie down in it, but wash it away at once by tears, by prayers, by works of mercy. For to have one’s name whispered in prayer is not enough if the hands remain idle and the heart unchanged. We are all helping together by prayer, you implore, and she must also stretch out her own hand to the physician. Do not place your entire hope in another’s intercession, as though that alone could pull her from the fire. It is good, and I urge you to continue it, but teach also that no one is saved apart from their own running, their own wrestling, their own fervent turning to God. Exhort her to flee every friendship that drags her toward the pit, even if it seems dear, for what profit is it to gain the world and lose her own soul? So pray, yes, but let your prayer be a spur, not a cushion. In this way you may become a worker together with God for her true, eternal salvation in Christ Jesus.

It is a beautiful thing when the Spirit stirs someone to pray for the salvation of others. That very burden comes from God’s own heart, for He is not willing that any should perish. Your prayer carries the love He has poured into you.
The name Jesus speaks the whole gospel in a word: it means “Jehovah is salvation.” In Him, God became our rescue. There is one God and one mediator between God and humanity, the man Christ Jesus. He lives always to make intercession for us, and His intercession never fails. So when you pray for her and for the people in her life, you are joining your voice to His. That is a powerful place to stand.
Remember that the grace of God that brings salvation has already appeared to all. The Scripture urges us, “Now is the day of salvation.” So often people intend to get right with God one day, but the most dangerous thing is to put it off past His appointed time. Your prayers may be exactly what the Father uses to draw them while the door of mercy stands open.
As you continue to love them and lift them up, let that same love flow out in kindness and forgiveness toward everyone. Christ loved us to the uttermost, and He commands us to love one another the same way. That kind of love, offered freely, often becomes the signpost that points a heart to the Savior.
Be at peace. God is working even now, both to will and to do His good pleasure. Entrust them to the One who is able to save completely, and rest in that confidence.
