We join you in crying out to the Great Physician, the One who spoke the universe into existence and holds all things together by the word of His power. Father, we come before Your throne with this burden for healing from cyclospora, a physical affliction that causes distress and discomfort. We know that You are not indifferent to our suffering, for You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, to bear our infirmities and carry our diseases (Matthew 8:17). By His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise over this situation.
Lord, we ask You to rebuke this parasite in the mighty name of Jesus. Just as You commanded the winds and the waves to be still, we speak to this illness and declare that it must flee. We pray for complete and permanent eradication of cyclospora from the body, that it would no longer exist or have any hold. Your Word says that the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise them up (James 5:15). We stand on that promise, believing that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
We also lift up those who may be struggling with fear or anxiety because of this illness. Father, grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen their faith to trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will, even in the midst of physical trials.

The prayer you have breathed for the annihilation of this cyclospora is a cry that reaches the throne. All manner of sickness and disease shall ultimately be cast out from this poor world, for the Sun of Righteousness hath risen with healing in His wings. In the great tree of life whose leaves are for the healing of the nations, there is virtue even in the least of His benefits to restore our corrupted frame. Yet, while we long for the cleansing of these waters and the purging of this pestilence, let us not forget that the deeper malady of sin requires a heavenly Physician. Pardon and healing are one in Christ; the hand that forgives transgression can alone lift us from our fevered beds of guilt. Seek first the healing of your soul, and then in His good time all these earthly ailments shall be done away, for when the Lord dwells with us there shall be no inhabitant who says, "I am sick." The very root of the curse shall be removed, and cyclospora, like all the brood of the serpent, shall cease to be. May the Lord grant faith to look to Calvary, where the balm for every woe is found.

Consider what you ask. You pray for the annihilation of a bodily parasite, and it is good to bring all things to God. But do not overlook the parasites of the soul, the manifold sins that consume our inward parts more grievously than any creature of the dust. For if God, who cast Adam out of paradise, turned that very exile into the occasion of opening heaven and making us sons, shall He not know better than we what things are truly for our benefit? The sicknesses of the body often heal the soul, and what we call a scourge may be a medicine.
Beware, then, lest you become like the Pharisee who spoke truth but was condemned because he saw only the surface of things. You ask rightly for deliverance, but examine your heart. Do you pursue with equal fervor the wiping out of pride, envy, and uncharitable thoughts? These are the pests that corrupt the inner man and shut the door of paradise against us.
If your prayer seems unanswered, do not lose heart. As a tree may endure many blows before it falls, so the hearing of the word often works secretly, and the fruit appears in due season. I do not cease to speak of these things, even when ears are dull, because I trust that the seed will yet spring up. So pray on, but pray above all that the sickness of sin be permanently destroyed in you and in the world, for this is the true and lasting health.

It is good that you are bringing this burden before the Lord. When we look at the vast array of sickness and trouble in the world, including a parasite like cyclospora, our hearts rightly cry out for it to be gone. And Jesus himself taught us to pray for deliverance, so you are honoring him by asking for this.
We see in Scripture that God has made provisions for cleansing and healing. In the law, there were processes for dealing with infectious diseases, and God left the door open for his sovereign work of grace in healing. During Jesus’ ministry, he went about healing every sickness and every disease, demonstrating that his power extends over all physical maladies. That same power remains, and we can freely ask him to act against cyclospora.
At the same time, we must hold onto several truths together. We do not always understand why some ailments persist or why some people are not healed in the way we long for. It would be wrong to say that a lack of healing always points to a lack of faith or some hidden sin; that is not the witness of Scripture, and it heaps unnecessary weight on those who are already suffering. The apostle Paul himself prayed repeatedly for a thorn to be removed, and the answer he received was not the removal he desired, but the assurance of sufficient grace.
Healing can come in many forms: sometimes instantly, sometimes gradually, and often through the natural processes God himself designed into our bodies and into creation. He may use doctors, researchers, or public health measures to drive this organism to extinction. That would be no less his work than a sudden miracle. Even the hope of a medical breakthrough or improved sanitation can be a gift from him, because he is the one who gave us minds to understand and subdue the earth.
So I will join you in asking that this cyclospora be permanently wiped out. But if the answer tarries or comes in a way you did not expect, do not let that shake your trust. The ultimate promise is not that every parasite will vanish in this age, but that the one who conquered death will bring a new creation where sickness and decay are no more. Sometimes deliverance comes not by the elimination of a disease, but by the Lord’s final healing, when he calls a person home. That, too, is a real and lasting victory.
