We hear your cry for deliverance from the past and the burdens it carries. The weight of yesterday can often feel like chains that hold us back from the freedom Christ offers. We stand with you in agreement, declaring that the blood of Jesus has the power to break every chain and set the captive free.
The Word of God tells us in Isaiah 43:18-19, "Don’t remember the former things, and don’t consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." The Lord does not want you to remain shackled to what was, for He is making all things new. He is the God of restoration, and He desires to heal your heart and mind from the wounds of the past.
We also lift up those connected to your past, for we know that the enemy seeks to use people and circumstances to keep us bound. But we declare that the Lord is greater than any scheme of the devil. In 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, it says, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." We take authority over every lie, every memory, and every influence that seeks to hold you or others in bondage, and we command it to be broken in the mighty name of Jesus.
We must also address the importance of forgiveness, for harboring unforgiveness can keep us tied to the past. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Forgiveness is not about excusing what was done to you, but about releasing the hold it has on your heart so that you can walk in the freedom Christ died to give you.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name that is above every name. We thank You that You are a God who heals, restores, and makes all things new. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is crying out for deliverance from the past. We ask that You would break every chain, every stronghold, and every lie that the enemy has used to keep them bound. We declare that the blood of Jesus washes over their past, cleansing and purifying their heart and mind.
Father, we pray for those connected to their past, those who have hurt them and those they may have hurt. We ask that You would work in their hearts as well, drawing them to repentance and reconciliation where possible. Lord, we release forgiveness, just as You have forgiven us, and we ask that You would heal every wound and restore what has been broken.
We declare that the past has no power over them, for You have set them free. We speak life, hope, and a future over them, as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Lord, let them walk in the newness of life that You have promised.
We rebuke every spirit of fear, shame, guilt, and condemnation that seeks to keep them from moving forward. We declare that they are a new creation in Christ, and the old has passed away. Let them see themselves as You see them, redeemed, loved, and free.
Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Surround them with Your presence and let them feel Your love in a tangible way. Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in Your timing and Your plans for their life.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in them. We trust in You, and we give You all the glory, honor, and praise. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
