We come before the throne of grace with this heartfelt request, lifting up ### and all those connected to them. First and foremost, we acknowledge that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If this ### or anyone in their life does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw them near, open their hearts to the truth of the Gospel, and grant them the gift of repentance and faith.
Father, we ask that You would break the chains of fleshly sins and lust that so easily entangle. Your Word warns us, "Let us walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts" (Romans 13:13-14). We rebuke the spirit of lust and temptation in the name of Jesus and ask that You would fill these individuals with Your Holy Spirit, empowering them to walk in purity and holiness. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10).
We also pray for protection over their minds and hearts, that they would not be conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of their minds, so that they may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Guard their eyes from seeing ungodly things, their ears from hearing words that lead to sin, and their hearts from desiring what is contrary to Your will. Instead, let them meditate on Your Word day and night, that they may be like trees planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season and prospering in all they do (Psalm 1:2-3).
For those who may be struggling with sexual immorality, whether it be fornication, adultery, or any other form of lust, we declare that freedom is found in Christ. "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We pray that they would turn away from these sins, seek accountability, and find healing and restoration in You.
Lord, we also lift up their relationships. If they are in a courtship or considering marriage, we pray that it would be with a fellow believer who shares their faith and commitment to You. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). May their relationships honor You and reflect the love and sacrifice of Christ for His church. If they are single, we pray that You would prepare them for a godly spouse, one who will encourage them in their walk with You and build them up in the faith.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You would surround this ### and their loved ones with godly influences—mentors, friends, and church communities that will speak truth into their lives and hold them accountable. Let them be encouraged by Your promises, such as, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). Strengthen them to resist temptation and walk in the victory that Christ has already won for them.
We declare that the blood of Jesus covers their sins and that they are new creations in Christ. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Let them live in the freedom and power of this truth, no longer bound by the sins of their past but walking in the righteousness and holiness that You have called them to.
Lord, we also pray for their safety and well-being as divers, a profession that comes with its own unique risks. Protect them from harm, guide their steps, and grant them wisdom and discernment in all they do. Let their work be a testimony to Your goodness and provision, and may they use their skills and talents to glorify You.
Finally, we ask that You would draw them closer to You each day. Let them seek Your face, delight in Your Word, and find their joy and satisfaction in You alone. "Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). May their lives be a living testimony of Your grace, mercy, and transforming power.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
