Angry

Servant of All
I have too many reasons in my mind for what I need. I have no money right now because of struggle, mad at the fake people, taking advantage of me for no reason. I need a car, my own place to make me feel peaceful because it makes me happy that I deserve it. The reason is why I've been waiting for too long to hear from the lawyers is because I do not play around. God sees what is going on. I extremely value honesty and truth.

We hear the anger and weariness in your heart and we are lifting you up together before the Lord. It is understandable to feel overwhelmed when finances are tight, when you feel taken advantage of by insincere people, and when you are waiting a long time for answers from lawyers while needing a car and a peaceful place of your own. We want to pray with you and share what God says about these burdens.

We admire that you value honesty and truth so highly, because God does as well. The Lord delights in truth and hates deception, for lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight Proverbs 12:22. And you are right that God sees what is going on. Nothing is hidden from Him and He is a God of justice. We are reminded not to take vengeance into our own hands, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. He sees the fake people and those who have taken advantage of you, and He will deal justly in His time.

We also want to gently speak to the anger you are carrying. Anger itself is a human emotion that God understands, but Scripture warns us to handle it carefully. Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil Ephesians 4:26-27. And we are told, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God James 1:19-20. Holding onto anger toward those who have wronged you can become bitterness that harms your own heart more than theirs. We encourage you to bring that anger honestly to God, ask Him to guard your heart, and to help you forgive as He has forgiven us, while also setting wise and godly boundaries with people who are not trustworthy.

You mentioned feeling that you deserve a car and your own place to feel peaceful and happy. We understand that deep longing for stability and peace. God does want to provide for His children and give us peace, but Scripture teaches us that our provision comes not because we have earned it or deserve it, but because of His grace and love. We are also called to seek Him first. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. And we are reminded, Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Hebrews 13:5. That does not mean we should not pray for needs like a car and housing, we absolutely should, but true peace does not come from a place or a possession alone, it comes from Christ. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

Waiting is so difficult, especially when lawyers are involved and you feel you have been waiting too long and you do not play around. We pray God gives you patience and trust in His timing as you wait. Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh Psalm 27:14. He is working even when we cannot see progress.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and peace with Him. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is because of Jesus dying for our sins and rising again that we can bring every need, every anger, every hurt directly to God with confidence. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, confess your sins to Him, and follow Him.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. You see the financial struggle, the need for a car and for a peaceful home, the frustration of waiting, and the hurt caused by people who have been dishonest and taken advantage. Lord, we ask You to provide for every real need according to Your riches in glory, to open doors for provision and stable housing in Your perfect will, and to give wisdom regarding the lawyers and the situation they are waiting on. We ask You to heal the anger and replace bitterness with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help our friend to be angry and not sin, to release vengeance to You, and to walk in honesty and truth as You do. Teach us all to be content in You while we still bring our requests to You with thanksgiving. Draw this heart closer to Jesus, let them know the forgiveness and access that comes only through His name, and let Your truth and comfort fill this life. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our peace, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing these needs to God daily, to stay in His Word, and to seek godly counsel for wise steps forward. The Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted Psalm 34:18 and He hears you.

We hear how much pressure you are under right now, feeling angry and stretched thin with no money, dealing with people who have not been honest with you, and waiting a long time to hear from lawyers. Wanting a car and your own peaceful place makes complete sense, those are basic needs for stability and rest, and it is understandable to feel worn down when you have waited so long.

We also hear how much you value honesty and truth, and that being taken advantage of cuts especially deep when that is core to who you are. Anger in seasons like this often works like a signal, pointing to something tender underneath like hurt from how you have been treated, frustration about things you cannot control right now, or worry about what comes next. Noticing what is underneath does not make the anger wrong, it can help you respond in a steadier way.

One small step that helps many people is to pause when the anger rises and quietly name what you are feeling underneath, even just writing a few words on paper, and then bring that honest list to God. For the wait with the lawyers, it can also help to keep a simple written record of when you called and what was said, and set one steady time each week to follow up, so you are not carrying it every day.

Father, we lift our friend to You, You see the struggle, the need for provision and peace, and the longing for honesty to be honored. Give wisdom for next steps, calm in the waiting, and trustworthy people to walk alongside. Lead toward what is good and steady in the days ahead. In Jesus name, amen.

There is a heaviness in your words that many a tried soul will understand, pressed on one side by want and on the other by the unfaithfulness of men. To be without means, to feel taken advantage of, and to wait long for an answer from those who should help you, is a sore trial. Yet you have spoken a true word when you say God sees what is going on. He does. Nothing is hid from His eyes, and He is not indifferent to wrong or to need.

You speak of fake people whose words were smooth but whose dealings were false. Our Lord Jesus knew this grief to its depth. It was written of Him, the words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart, his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. He was betrayed by one who walked near Him and put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him. Knowing this, He is able to sympathize with you when you are wounded by those who have broken trust for gain. Bring that wound to Him, for He knows the sting of such betrayal and He will not deal falsely with you.

You desire a car and a place of your own that you might have peace, and you feel you have waited long and deserve rest. It is natural to seek peace in such things, but the Scriptures point to a deeper and more abiding peace. It is written, You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. And again Christ says, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. This is not the peace which circumstances give and circumstances can take away, nor the false peace which Satan whispers where there is no peace. It is peace with God through the blood of Jesus Christ, and then peace within the conscience as that treaty is published in the heart. A house and provision are needful things and it is right to ask the Father for them, but perfect peace is found not first in what we possess but in Whose we are and upon whom our mind is stayed. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when duties press and sorrows surge round.

You also write of waiting for lawyers and feeling that the delay is great. The Scripture speaks of a waiting God and a waiting people. The Lord waits that He may be gracious, and His people wait upon Him in hope. To wait upon the Lord is not to sit in sullen despair but to wait as a servant waits upon his lord, anxious to know his master's will, and as a traveler waits upon his guide. Waiting upon the Lord strengthens courage and breeds peace within the soul, and when a man is at rest within he cares little for trials or foes. Have you not yet obtained the peace which comes with believing, then with great importunity continue in prayer and wait on, remembering that the blessing is worth waiting for. He who keeps your soul will not keep you one hour longer than love requires. Use the waiting to seek His direction for the whole voyage of life, for He is at the helm.

You say you extremely value honesty and truth, and this is pleasing to God, for He desires truth in the inward parts and His lips cannot lie. Yet the honesty He most requires begins in the heart before Him. Let us be honest about our own need, that we are sinners who have no peace with God except through Jesus Christ who made peace by His blood. There will be no peace between God and any man who despises the Person and work of Jesus Christ, for other foundation can no man lay. Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Do not seek after peace first as a feeling. Seek after Christ first, and peace will come next. Confess your anger and your need to Him, for anger cherished becomes bitterness, but anger confessed at the foot of the cross is healed.

May the Lord bless His people with peace, that true peace which is a blessing and brings no sorrow with it. I pray that you may find that peace at the feet of the Prince of Peace, and that from that settled place you may then seek daily bread and daily guidance with a calm mind.

We will pray for you, that the Lord who sees all will provide for your needs according to His wisdom, that He will guard you from those who would use you, that He will give you grace to walk in honesty and to forgive as you have been forgiven, that He will sustain you in this waiting and keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him, and that He will renew your strength as you wait upon Him. May He keep you from false peace and give you the peace of God which passes all understanding through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I feel like I just need to post this. I'm angry and hurt at the church I use to attend for prayer. But in this second season, I felt judged and condemned, and a few saw how I was being treated. The female pastor even said "she was tired of praying for me because there was no change", but it was...
