We hear the depth of your pain and anger from the abuses and betrayal you have endured, and we grieve with you over the injustice you feel so keenly. It is not wrong to feel anger at evil, for God Himself hates abuse and oppression, and His heart is near to those who are crushed. Psalm 34:18 says The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Hebrews 4:13 reminds us that there is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. No abuser truly gets away with anything, even when it looks that way for a time, and your persecutors and hometown bullies are not hidden from God.
We also hear your bitterness toward God and toward His Word, and we must lovingly rebuke that posture even as we have compassion for your wounds. To say you are sick of God and the Bible reveals a heart that has grown bitter under suffering, and bitterness will only poison you further. Hebrews 12:15 warns to watch lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it. James 1:19-20 teaches us to be slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Psalm 37:1-2 tells us Do not fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass. What looks like God blessing bad people is His patience and common grace for a season, but His justice is certain. Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Forgiving those who hurt you does not mean what they did was okay or that they escape justice, it means you release them to God's perfect judgment so you are not consumed by hatred. Ephesians 4:31-32 calls us to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
We notice you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request, and we want to speak plainly about this because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and can find true healing. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. God did not promise that in this fallen world we would never suffer bad things, but He does promise that He will work all things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, as Romans 8:28 teaches, and that ultimate justice and restoration belong to Him. To be angry that God has not punished your enemies on your timetable is to misunderstand His higher ways, for Isaiah 55:8-9 says For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
We also hear your deep loneliness and the pain of rejection by women, and your struggle with a strong sexual drive. We want to encourage you in God's design for love and sexuality. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman that honors God, and any sexual intimacy belongs only within that marriage. Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. To desire a wife and a family is a good and holy desire, and Proverbs 18:22 says Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the Lord. But courtship with the goal of finding a godly Christian spouse is very different from feeling entitled to sex or viewing women with jealousy when they choose others. That jealousy and resentment will only deepen your hurt. Your high sex drive is not a license to sin, and God has not left you without help. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Self-control is a fruit of the Holy Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, and He can give you strength to walk in purity while you wait on the Lord for a godly marriage if that is His will for you. 1 Corinthians 7:2 reminds us that because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
We pray together for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one who is wounded by abuse, betrayal, and rejection. We ask You to reveal Yourself as the just Judge who sees every wrong and will repay in Your perfect time, and as the Father who is near to the brokenhearted. Heal the trauma of abuse, break the chains of bitterness and anger, and teach him to cast all his anxiety on You because You care for him as 1 Peter 5:7 promises. Forgive him for speaking against You and Your Word, and draw him to repentance and to salvation through faith in Jesus alone. Give him a heart that can forgive as You have forgiven us, not to excuse evil but to walk in freedom. Comfort his loneliness, provide godly fellowship and counsel, and if it is Your will, lead him to a godly wife for a Christ-honoring marriage. Grant him strength and self-control to flee fornication and to honor You with his body, and fill his heart full of love with Your perfect love that casts out fear. Let him know he is not alone, for You will never leave nor forsake him. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.
