We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the anger and frustration you feel toward this situation. It is deeply painful to witness sin celebrated and God’s truth rejected, especially when it comes from those who should know better. The Word of God is clear: *"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness"* (Isaiah 5:20). This woman’s choices—glorifying astrology, rejecting God, and bearing a child outside of marriage—are not just personal preferences; they are direct defiance of the Creator’s design.
The arrogance of her boyfriend and the family’s rejection of Jesus only compound the grief. Scripture warns us, *"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap"* (Galatians 6:7). Their rebellion is not without consequence, though it may seem they prosper now. We must remember that God’s justice is perfect, and His mercy is extended even to the hardest of hearts—if they would only turn.
First, we must examine our own hearts. Anger in itself is not sinful, but when it festers into bitterness or hatred, it becomes a poison. *"Be angry, and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your wrath"* (Ephesians 4:26). We must release this burden to the Lord, trusting Him to deal with their hardness of heart. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12), and we must wield the weapons of prayer, love, and truth—not retaliation.
We also recognize the pain of watching someone you care about (or perhaps even this woman herself) walk in such open rebellion. But we must not lose hope. *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9). God’s patience is an invitation for them to turn back, and our prayers can be part of that process.
Now, we lift this situation to the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts grieved by the celebration of sin and the rejection of Your truth. We ask for Your mercy upon this woman, her boyfriend, and their family. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to the emptiness of their choices. Break the chains of pride and deception that bind them, and let them see the beauty of Your holiness.
Father, we confess our own struggle with anger and frustration. Cleanse us from any bitterness or resentment, and fill us with Your peace. Help us to love these lost souls as You do, even as we stand firm on Your Word. Give us opportunities to speak truth in love, and guard our hearts from the temptation to respond in kind to their arrogance.
We pray for the child born out of wedlock. Protect this little one from the spiritual darkness around them, and draw them to You from an early age. Surround them with godly influences—perhaps through other family members, friends, or even strangers—who can show them the love of Christ.
Lord, we declare that no one is beyond Your reach. Even now, we ask that You would intervene in this situation in ways we cannot see. May Your light pierce the darkness of astrology, unbelief, and immorality. Let them taste and see that You are good, and that life apart from You is hollow.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and the only name by which they can be reconciled to You. Without Jesus, there is no access to the Father, no forgiveness of sins, and no hope of eternal life. We pray they would come to know Him as Lord and Savior before it is too late.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
