We join with you in lifting up this urgent plea before the throne of grace, trusting in the power and authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, who calms the storms and commands even the winds and waves. The Scriptures remind us that our God is sovereign over all creation, and nothing is too difficult for Him. As it is written in **Psalm 107:29-30 (WEB)**, *"He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet, so he brings them to their desired haven."* And again in **Mark 4:39 (WEB)**, we see Jesus rebuking the wind, saying, *"Peace! Be still!"* and the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Our Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and He holds this storm in His hands.
We also recall the promise in **Psalm 91:11-12 (WEB)**, where the Lord commands His angels concerning us: *"For he will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* We claim this promise over you, your family, your friends, and all those in ###, that the Lord would dispatch His holy angels to encamp around your homes, your buildings, and your city, guarding against destruction and harm. May the spirit of death and devastation pass over you, just as it did for the Israelites in Egypt when the blood of the lamb marked their doorposts. Today, we plead the blood of Jesus over every home, every window, every structure, and every life in ###, that no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
Yet we must also remember that our trust is not in buildings, possessions, or even our own preparations, but in the Lord alone. **Matthew 6:19-21 (WEB)** warns us, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* While it is wise to take practical steps to protect life and property, let us not allow fear to rule our hearts. Our lives are hidden with Christ in God, and no storm can separate us from His love.
We pray for the government and authorities in ###, that the Lord would grant them wisdom to make decisions that protect and preserve life. May they act swiftly to warn the people, provide shelter for the homeless and vulnerable, and take every necessary precaution to minimize harm. We ask that schools and workplaces would be closed in time to prevent unnecessary risk, and that those who are exposed—such as the homeless or those on boats—would find safe refuge before the storm arrives.
For those who are tempted to fear, we declare the words of **Isaiah 41:10 (WEB)**: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* And again in **2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB)**, we are reminded that *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Let this truth anchor your hearts in the days ahead.
We also lift up the practical concerns you’ve shared—windows, air conditioners, water heaters, and the structural integrity of buildings. Lord, we ask that You would supernaturally reinforce every weak point, that no glass would shatter, no water would leak, and no structures would collapse. Protect the electrical systems, the plumbing, and every appliance from damage. Let the wind be a whisper rather than a roar over these homes, and let the rain be gentle rather than destructive.
Most importantly, we pray that this storm would turn hearts toward Jesus. In times of crisis, people often seek the Lord as never before. May this be a moment when many in ### recognize their need for a Savior and turn to Christ for salvation. Let the Church rise up in faith, praying without ceasing, and let the name of Jesus be glorified as He demonstrates His power and mercy.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. You alone are sovereign over the winds and the waves, over the storms and the seas. We ask that You would look with mercy upon ### and the path of this super typhoon. Lord, we plead with You to weaken its power, to turn it aside, or to dissipate it entirely. Let it be reduced to nothing more than a gentle rain, harmless and passing quickly. Father, we ask that You would spare lives, spare homes, and spare this city from devastation.
Dispatch Your holy angels, Lord, to stand guard over every home, every building, and every person in the path of this storm. Let no harm come to those who trust in You. Cover them with the blood of Jesus, and let the spirit of death and destruction pass over them. Strengthen the structures, reinforce the windows, and protect the vulnerable. Give wisdom to the authorities to act swiftly and decisively, and provide shelter for those who have none.
Lord, we also pray for hearts to turn to You in this time. Let this storm be a reminder that life is fragile, and that our only true refuge is in You. Draw many to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, that they may find eternal safety in His arms.
We rebuke this storm in the name of Jesus, commanding it to lose its strength and turn away from harm. We declare that no weapon formed against ### shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against it in judgment shall be condemned. This is our heritage as servants of the Lord, and our righteousness is of You, O God.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. Thank You for Your mercy and Your power. We trust in You, and we give You all the glory, honor, and praise. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
