Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me. I need enlightenment. Many of my friends say I am a narcissist brat. But I am not. I am a good person but I need prayers. As an attorney, I need prayers not to be deceived by money. I need to be humble as I am so choosy with my clients.I don't take poor people. I am sorry. I am working on it, if only God would help me be humble.A friend told me once, I should stop calling black people the N word. Because they are humans too.I can't help discriminate.I am sorry. Please please, pray for me. In Jesus Name.

Hello church of Japan. We certainly dont discriminate agaisnt others by race. May God help you with humility and love and acceptance of others and help you show kindness. Praying daily and spending time in his word will certainly help. Lord Yeshuas name amen.

We have read your request and we thank you for your honesty and humility in bringing these struggles into the light before God. We hear your desire for enlightenment and for a changed heart, and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name. We rejoice that you closed your request in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in no other name that we are saved, as it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.

We want to speak truth to you in love about what you have shared, because God loves you too much to leave you as you are. You say many friends call you a narcissist brat but that you are a good person. The Word tells us, The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it Jeremiah 17:9, and All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23. None of us is good apart from Christ, and that recognition is the beginning of humility. We also hear your confession that as an attorney you are tempted by money, that you are choosy with clients and do not take the poor, and that you struggle with pride and discrimination, even using the N word toward black people. These are serious matters before God and we must lovingly rebuke them while we pray for your deliverance.

Regarding pride and being choosy, Scripture warns, Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall Proverbs 16:18, and God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble James 4:6. We are called to do nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself Philippians 2:3, and to let each of you not just look to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others Philippians 2:4. When you show favoritism to the rich and turn away the poor, you violate the royal law. The Scripture says, My brothers, don't hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with partiality James 2:1, and If you fulfill the royal law, according to the Scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well James 2:8, but if you show partiality, you commit sin James 2:9. The Lord calls those who practice law and justice to a higher standard, to Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy Proverbs 31:8-9, and to Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow Isaiah 1:17. The love of money is also a snare, for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil 1 Timothy 6:10, and we cannot serve both God and money Matthew 6:24.

Regarding your use of the N word and discrimination, we must be very clear. God shows no partiality Acts 10:34, and in Christ there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all Colossians 3:11. Every person is made in the image of God Genesis 1:27 and God made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth Acts 17:26. To use degrading language toward any race is sin against God and against your neighbor, whom you are commanded to love as yourself Mark 12:31. The tongue must be bridled, for with it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the image of God. Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so James 3:9-10. You said you cannot help discriminating, but in Christ you can be made new, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Your desire for enlightenment is good, but true enlightenment does not come from within, it comes from God opening the eyes of our heart Ephesians 1:18. We are transformed by the renewing of our mind Romans 12:2, and the unfolding of your words gives light Psalm 119:130. The way forward is repentance and confession, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Search us, God, and know our heart. Try us, and know our thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in us, and lead us in the everlasting way Psalm 139:23-24.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this soul to You. We thank You for the honesty and conviction You have already placed in this heart. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for pride, for the love of money, for partiality against the poor, and for racist thoughts, words, and discrimination. Wash this heart clean by the blood of Jesus. Grant true humility, that this attorney may count others as more significant and may use the gifts You have given to seek justice for those who have no voice. Deliver from the deceitfulness of riches and teach contentment and integrity. Take away the language of contempt and fill the mouth with blessing, mercy, and love for every person made in Your image. Open the eyes of the heart and grant enlightenment by Your Holy Spirit, that there may be a renewed mind that hates what You hate and loves what You love. Create a clean heart and renew a right spirit within. Help to walk in daily repentance, to make restitution where needed, to serve the poor willingly, and to speak with kindness and respect to all. Lead into a life that reflects Your character, humble, just, merciful, and holy. We ask that You help to walk humbly with You as You require us to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God Micah 6:8. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to confess these sins specifically to God and to those you have harmed, to seek godly accountability from a mature believer or pastor who will tell you the truth, and to take practical steps of obedience such as offering some of your legal service to the poor without charge, refusing to use degrading language and immediately repenting when tempted, and praying Psalm 139:23-24 each morning. God is able to make you humble, for He gives grace to the humble, and He will help you as you submit to Him James 4:6-7.

###, thank you for writing with such honesty. We can hear how heavy this feels, and also how sincerely you want to grow. Wanting to be more humble, more fair with people, and less driven by money is a good and brave desire, and we are glad you brought it to God so openly.

Humility is not something that appears overnight. It grows slowly as we stay honest with God and with the people closest to us, and as we are willing to hear how our choices land on others. You already started that work by naming where you have been selective with clients and where your words have hurt others. That kind of reflection, followed by quiet repentance and a willingness to make things right where you can, is often how God softens our hearts over time.

One simple next step that may help is to invite one trusted, godly person who knows you well to walk with you in this season. Ask them to give you honest feedback when pride or old habits surface, and to pray with you regularly as you practice choosing what is humble and loving instead.

Father, we bring ### before You in Jesus' name. Thank You for her honesty and her desire to change. Give her a clear mind, a humble heart, and wisdom in her work as an attorney. Help her to see people as You see them and to walk in kindness and integrity. Lead her day by day and give her strength to keep turning toward You. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your request has been read with care, and we thank you for speaking so plainly concerning those sins which trouble your conscience. There is mercy with the Lord that He should have shown you your need, for many live under the same evils and never see them. You ask for enlightenment and for humility, and this is itself a token that the Spirit of God may be at work within you.

Hear what Scripture declares, that when destruction walks through the land it casts its shadow before it, and that shadow is pride, and when honor visits a mans house it casts its shadow before it, and that shadow is humility. There is nothing into which the heart of man so easily falls as pride, and yet there is no vice more frequently and more solemnly condemned in the Word of God. Pride has its seat and throne in the heart, and its consequence is destruction. You confess that you are choosy with your clients and will not take the poor, that you are deceived by money, that you have lifted yourself above others and used a word of contempt toward those made in the image of God. These things are not light faults of manner, they are the fruits of pride, and pride is a root that must be plucked up.

Take heed that you do not content yourself with a humility which lives only in the face or in fine words. The imitation of humility is the nearest thing in the world to pride. True humility must be genuine and must dwell in the heart, wrought there by the grace of God. It is not enough to say, I am sorry, and then to remain as before. We are to serve the Lord with all humility of mind, humility before the act, humility during the service, and humility when all is done. Every time pride lifts up its head, remember that you are mortal and that you are by nature a depraved creature standing in need of sovereign grace. Such remembrance will teach you lowliness.

You also ask for prayer that you may not be deceived. Hear then concerning repentance, for without it prayer is but breath. There is a carnal repentance which is of the flesh, a passing sorrow that gives no glory to God and soon withers. And there is a true repentance, a repentance unto life, which is the gift of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in the renewed heart. True repentance gives God glory, it makes a man weep and abhor his past life because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and it makes him avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for him. It is inseparable from faith, for the repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant is joined to the faith which admits Christ to be the sole Master of the heart. It looks out of self to Christ, and to Christ only, and it yields works meet for repentance. By this you may test it, does it last, is it practical, does it lead you to love what God loves and to hate what God hates.

The goodness of God is meant to lead you to repentance, not to drive you as a slave is driven with a whip, but to draw you with cords of love. Think of His long patience toward you, that He has not cut you off in your pride, but has spared you and shown you your sin. Let that goodness break your heart.

If you would be humble, you must seek of God the gift of true humility and true repentance in the name of Jesus Christ, for repentance and remission of sins are preached in His name and are found nowhere else. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, by His finished work upon the cross, and not by any worthiness in yourself. Come to Him as a sinner, confessing that you have loved money, despised the poor, and dishonored your fellow men by partiality and by that contemptuous speech of which you speak. Do not excuse these things, nor call yourself a good person while holding to them. Agree with God concerning them, and ask Him to cleanse you in the blood of Christ and to create in you a new heart.

Then let your repentance be seen. If you have despised the poor, learn to do justice and to show mercy, and count it a privilege to use your training as an attorney for those who cannot repay you. If you have exalted yourself for gain, pray to be delivered from covetousness, remembering that a mans life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. If you have wounded others by a word of contempt, put that word away forever, and learn to honour all men as bearers of Gods image, speaking of them and to them with the dignity which is due to those for whom Christ died. These are not the price of pardon, but the fruits which show that pardon has been received.

We will pray for you as you have asked, in the name of Jesus.

O Lord our God, who resistest the proud and givest grace unto the humble, look upon this soul who confesses her pride and her sin. Give her not a false and fleeting sorrow, but that godly sorrow which needeth not to be repented of. Grant her repentance unto life, and faith to look out of self to Christ alone for mercy. Take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh, humble, tender, and merciful. Deliver her from the deceitfulness of riches and from the love of money, and teach her to love mercy and to do justly. Subdue in her all contempt of others, and make her to love her neighbour as herself. Let Thy goodness lead her to true and lasting change, and let her henceforth serve Thee with all humility of mind, to the praise of Thy grace. For Jesus sake, Amen.

Seek the Lord while He may be found, continue in prayer, search the Scriptures, and walk in the light as He shall give you strength. May the Lord make you truly humble and truly new.
