We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this young girl and her mother, asking for His divine intervention in their relationship. The pain and brokenness between them is evident, and we know that only through the transforming power of Christ can true healing and restoration occur. Father, we ask that You break the cycle of hurt and disrespect that has taken root in their home. Your Word tells us in Ephesians 6:2-3, "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." We also read in Colossians 3:21, "Fathers, don’t provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged." Lord, we pray that both mother and daughter would understand the weight of these commands and the blessing that comes from obeying them.

We must also address the sin that has taken hold in their interactions. The use of profanity and name-calling is not only disrespectful but grieves the Holy Spirit. Scripture is clear in Ephesians 4:29, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." We rebuke the spirit of anger and bitterness that has fueled these words, and we ask that You replace it with a spirit of gentleness, self-control, and love. Proverbs 15:1 says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Lord, teach them both to speak with kindness and to respond with wisdom, even in moments of frustration.

We also recognize that this mother and daughter need salvation and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ if they do not already know Him. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If they have not yet surrendered their lives to Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts and draw them to repentance. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way, that they may experience Your love, forgiveness, and peace.

Heavenly Father, we ask that You soften the heart of this mother. Show her the pain she is causing her daughter and the damage she is doing to their relationship. Help her to see her daughter through Your eyes, as a precious gift, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Give her the strength to break free from the patterns of anger and harshness, and fill her with Your love so that she may extend grace and patience to her child.

Lord, we also pray for this young girl. The pain she feels is real, and we ask that You comfort her and remind her of her worth in You. Help her to respond to her mother with respect, even when she is provoked. Teach her to lean on You in her moments of frustration and to seek Your wisdom rather than reacting in anger. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Give her the strength to honor her mother, even when it is difficult, and to trust that You will work all things together for her good (Romans 8:28).

We declare that healing and restoration are possible in this family, Lord. We speak life and peace over their home, and we ask that You break every chain of generational sin and dysfunction. May they both come to know You more deeply and experience the freedom that comes from walking in Your ways. We pray that their relationship would be a testimony to Your power and grace, and that others would see Your love at work in their lives.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We want you to know we are taking this very seriously. If this girl is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, no matter where you live, you can find a helpline in about 130 countries at findahelpline.com. A trained person can help her and you think through next steps, safely.

What you describe is more than disrespect; it is verbal abuse, words that cut like a sharp weapon, blow after blow. When a mother calls her daughter the kind of names you mention, it crushes the spirit of a child and can leave wounds that last a lifetime. We ache with you that this is happening. It is not God’s heart for either of them.

The cycle you see, where both end up cursing, makes sense as a reaction, but it also shows how deeply toxic the home has become. The first thing this girl needs is to know she is not alone and this is not her fault. If you are a safe adult in her life, a calm, private conversation where you simply listen and affirm her worth can be a lifeline. Let her know that what she hears at home does not define her, and that there are people, even outside the situation, who will help her. You can point her to the helpline if she ever needs a place to talk without fear.

We are praying earnestly for the Holy Spirit to pierce this darkness. A parent lashing out this way often carries their own brokenness, but that does not make the behavior safe or acceptable, and a child cannot be left to endure it alone.

Lord Jesus, You see every word spoken over this girl and the shame and anger that churn in this home. We ask You to protect her heart and her mind, and to raise up someone near her who will act on her behalf. Convict her mother, Lord, awaken her to the harm she is causing and lead her to repentance and help. Break this cycle, and bring healing that only You can give. In Jesus’ name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

True repentance is always the gift of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in the soul. This cursing and swearing shows how very low Peter had fallen. When a man swears, you may, as a rule, be quite sure that he does not know Christ. Now, a repentance which makes me weep and abhor my past life because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, is the right repentance.

The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant, and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart; the repentance which purges the soul from dead works, and the faith that fills the soul with living works; the repentance which pulls down, and the faith which builds up. True repentance will yield works meet for repentance, it will be practical repentance. Does it last or does it not? He is the God of Peace and He has, on His part, prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation.

We want that reconciliation to be worked at once by the power of the Holy Spirit. The goodness of God to you, coming in so many different forms and ways, should lead you to repentance! But the sweetest and best repentance is that which comes, not by driving, but by drawing, "The goodness of God leads you to repentance." True repentance gives God glory. Answer, I pray you, as before the Lord, whom no man can deceive.

The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity, and by it both mother and daughter are being consumed. What a sorrowful report, that a mother should pour out curses upon her own flesh and blood, and the child, provoked beyond endurance, answer in kind. The Holy Spirit is indeed needed, for such strife is not from above but is earthly, sensual, devilish. I exhort you both: understand what the will of the Lord is.

Redeem the time, because the days are evil. Put away all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and evil speaking, with all malice. The mother must remember that she is to nurture her child in the admonition of the Lord, not to provoke her to wrath. The daughter, even when wronged, must show all respect and obedience so long as it does not hinder godliness.

For when parents oppose us on spiritual matters, we must not own them; but when they do not hinder, we ought to pay them all becoming honor, preferring them before others, because they bore us and endured ten thousand terrible things for our sake. Yet the mother must not use this as a cloak for harshness. Cut out the root of worldly passion, and there will be no bitter fruit. Let the girl persevere in prayer and meekness, for even the Canaanite woman, called a dog, persisted with faith and obtained mercy.

Let both look to Christ, who committed His own mother to the beloved disciple, knitting them together in charity. The Holy Spirit can convict and heal. Cease from returning evil for evil, and instead overcome evil with good. Pray without ceasing, and let this conflict become an occasion to show forth the power of the Gospel through long-suffering.

The pain in this home is evident, and it is right to cry out for the Holy Spirit to intervene. When a mother treats her own child with harsh words and cursing, something has gone deeply wrong. That natural bond between mother and child, which even the animals of the wilderness act upon, has been wounded. The daughter, pushed to her limit, responds with the same venom, and the cycle of destruction only worsens.

Scripture is clear: “Honor your father and mother” is a command with a severe penalty attached. Under the old covenant, one who cursed father or mother was put to death. That shows how seriously God views the words we speak against our parents. Jesus Himself confronted those who found clever ways to avoid caring for their parents, exposing the hardness of their hearts. This young girl is not exempt from that command, but the mother also bears a heavy responsibility. She is not to provoke her child to wrath but to nurture and instruct her in the Lord. The influence of a mother is powerful: she can be a counselor to wickedness or a conduit of God’s grace. Right now, this mother’s words are acting like an unclean spirit, vexing her daughter and teaching her to return evil for evil.

Yet there is hope. Remember the mother who came to Jesus in desperation because her daughter was grievously tormented. She was outside the covenant people, yet she fell at His feet and would not leave until she received what she needed. Jesus saw her faith and delivered the child. That same Jesus is able to break this cycle today. He can cast out the spirit of anger, resentment, and disrespect, and restore what the locusts have eaten.

I am praying that both mother and daughter would be convicted of how wrong all this is. They need new hearts, not just a temporary truce. That only comes through Christ. Let the mother seek Him like that desperate woman, not for her daughter alone, but for her own soul. Let the daughter, even in her pain, learn to entrust herself to the One who judges righteously, and begin to honor her mother as unto the Lord, finding her identity in being a daughter of God by faith. The beautiful picture is not this warfare, but what we see in Ruth and Naomi: a daughter finding rest and blessing under the care of a wise mother. That can happen here, but it will take a miracle of grace. May the Holy Spirit so work that soon the home will be filled with peace, and we will be able to say the unclean spirit has gone out of this daughter.
