One thing Ive heard an increasing number of times,is things that are condemned in the Bible are "brushed off" by the unsaved.Like ,there could be a person running for office who backs abortion, gay marriage etc.(it also means if they get in power, they will persecute Christians who dont go along with their unGodly agenda). When confronted with this, the people give the usual "sellout" answers."Who cares about those things? What happens with gay marriage grannies etc doesnt affect me.It gets me more money.Thats what matters .To them, their priorities are, they chose worldly comfort over Godly values .And I hear this attitude more and more .There are even some who claim to be Christians who do this, sell out.Not a good path, but a growing problem..

We hear your deep concern and share in your grief over the growing indifference toward godly values in our society. It is heartbreaking to witness so many, even those who claim the name of Christ, prioritizing worldly comfort, financial gain, or cultural approval over the unchanging truth of Scripture. The apostle Paul warned us that in the last days, people would be "lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, not lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power" (2 Timothy 3:2-5 WEB). This is the very spirit we see at work today, one that dismisses sin as irrelevant, even when it leads to the persecution of believers and the erosion of moral foundations.

We must not shrink back in silence. The Word of God is clear: "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people" (Proverbs 14:34 WEB). When leaders champion abortion, redefine marriage, or enforce policies that silence biblical truth, they are not merely advocating for personal freedoms, they are leading souls away from the narrow path that leads to life (Matthew 7:13-14). The blood of the innocent cries out (Genesis 4:10), and the Lord hears it. We cannot stand idly by while the unborn are slaughtered, marriage is defiled, and the church is pressured to conform to the patterns of this world.

To those who say, "What does it matter to me?" we must respond with the truth: it matters because God matters. It matters because souls matter. It matters because the eternal destiny of nations hangs in the balance. The psalmist declares, "Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh" (Psalm 33:12 WEB), but woe to the nation that turns its back on Him. We are not called to be passive observers of culture but salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16). If we lose our saltiness, what good are we? If we hide our light, how will the lost find their way?

And to those who claim Christ yet compromise His truth for worldly gain, we must lovingly but firmly warn: "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Mammon" (Matthew 6:24 WEB). The Lord Jesus Himself said, "Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels" (Mark 8:38 WEB). There is no middle ground. Either we stand for Christ, or we stand against Him.

Let us pray together in repentance and intercession:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving over the rebellion and hardness of heart in our land. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have been silent when we should have spoken, for the times we have compromised when we should have stood firm. We repent for the apathy that has taken root in our own hearts, for valuing comfort over conviction, for fearing man more than we fear You.

We pray for our nation, Father. Raise up leaders who will honor You, who will defend the innocent, uphold marriage as You designed it, and protect the freedom to worship You without persecution. Expose the darkness of abortion, the deception of redefining marriage, and the schemes of those who seek to silence Your truth. Break the spirit of compromise in the church, Lord. Awaken Your people to the urgency of the hour. Let us not be conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).

We pray for those who are deceived by the lies of the enemy, that their eyes would be opened to the truth of Your Word. Soften their hearts, Lord. Draw them to Yourself. For those who claim Your name but walk in disobedience, we ask that You convict them by Your Holy Spirit. Let them see that friendship with the world is enmity with You (James 4:4). May they repent and return to their first love.

Strengthen Your church, Father. Embolden us to speak the truth in love, to stand firm in the face of opposition, and to shine as lights in this dark generation. Give us wisdom to engage the culture with grace and truth, never backing down from Your Word but always extending the hope of the gospel.

We declare that You are sovereign, Lord. No plan of the enemy will prevail against Your purposes. Even in the midst of growing darkness, Your light will shine brighter. We trust in You, and we commit ourselves to being faithful witnesses until You return.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), we pray. Amen.

Do not lose heart, dear brother or sister. The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory through the cross. Our calling is to remain steadfast, to pray without ceasing, and to proclaim the truth with boldness. The world may grow darker, but the light of Christ within us will never be extinguished. Stand firm, and let your life be a testimony to the transforming power of the gospel. "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 15:58 WEB).

We hear the ache in your words, watching people trade God’s values for temporary comfort or financial gain is deeply discouraging. It’s especially painful when those who profess Christ do it, because it feels like a betrayal of what we hold dear together. You are not alone in this grief; faithful believers across time have felt the same sorrow over a world that prizes ease over righteousness.

What you are describing isn’t just political calculation, it’s a heart that has drifted. When “who cares about those things?” becomes the refrain, it shows how effectively the world can dull our capacity to care about what God cares about. That reality can either harden us into cynicism or drive us closer to the One who remains faithful when others falter. We would gently encourage you to lean into the latter, let this burden send you back to your own first love, guarding your own heart against the same slow drift. It’s also worth finding a few mature believers who share your convictions and will pray with you regularly, not to form a complaining circle but a fellowship that sharpens one another’s faithfulness.

We pray with you now: Lord Jesus, You see the compromises that grieve Your people. Comfort our friend in this loneliness and strengthen their resolve to walk faithfully even when others choose a different path. Grant them wisdom in how they speak about these things, love even for those they disagree with, and fresh confidence that You remain on the throne when human leaders fail. Work in the hearts of those who have sold out Your truth for worldly gain, and draw them back to genuine repentance. We ask this in Your name alone. Amen.

The stench of this world’s compromise rises to heaven, and you do well to be troubled by it. When men say, “What matters it if the laws sanction that which God abhors, so long as my purse is full?” they reveal whose children they are. Their god is their belly, and their glory is in their shame, for they mind earthly things. But what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death; but these wretches have cast off that fear and chosen worldly comfort over godly values. They are like the chaff on the threshing floor, when the wind of judgment blows, away they go.

You speak of professing Christians who sell their birthright for a mess of pottage. Let us not be deceived: a tree is known by its fruit. The genuine believer does not live by such calculation. He prays in business, he prays in labor, he prays in his ordinary calling; short prayers like sparks from the smithy chimney fly up all day long from truly devout souls. Not thus is it with the mere pretender. If a man’s religion is confined to certain hours and places, beware lest it turn out to be an abomination before the Lord. The mixed multitude that came out of Egypt fell a-lusting and became the plague of Israel; so these false professors bring disgrace upon the church and strengthen the hands of the ungodly.

Yet do not despair, for the Lord knows them that are His. He called Israel out of Egypt, and He still calls His elect out of the vilest places, out of the very halls of power where men now scoff at His statutes. When the enemy whispers that the righteous are few, remember that the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal: “The Lord knows them that are His.” And let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. The sealing of the Spirit marks the believer with a divine imprint; though the world rage, that seal shall never be broken. Your business is to walk in godly fear, to hold fast without compromise. Did not Abraham’s servant refuse to take Isaac back to the old country? So we must not return to the world’s Egypt, whatever the cost. Come out from among them, and be ye separate.

As for those who say, “It gets me more money, that’s what matters,” they are laying up treasure for the last days. How shall they face the Judge when He demands an account of their stewardship? Better to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. When persecution arises for conscience’ sake, and it shall come, for the mind of the flesh is enmity against God, blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you for righteousness’ sake. Rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven. The martyr’s blood was not shed out of mere folly; contending for truth is no small thing. Let the worldlings choose their Baal; you stand with Elijah on mount Carmel, and the Lord will answer by fire.

Go on, then, firm and undismayed. Pray without ceasing. Let no man take your crown. The Lord has said, “Out of Egypt have I called My son,” and He will bring His own safely home. He who blots out transgression and remembers sin no more will yet make righteousness to shine forth as the dawn. Hold fast, and be not partakers of other men’s sins. The night is far spent; the day is at hand. In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence, and His children shall have a place of refuge.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

When the tongue speaks such words as "Who cares about those things? It gets me more money," it reveals a heart that has become a ditch of filth, not a fountain of honey. These are not the lips of those who converse with God in a pure conscience, but of those who crawl about the marketplace, mad after worldly things. Their table is not spread with spiritual fragrance, but with the stench of selfish gain.

It is a grievous sight when the church itself becomes a house of trade, and those who name the name of Christ bring the clamor of the exchange into the place of holy discourse. Once, houses were churches, and no worldly word was spoken; now, even in the assembly, the priorities of profit drown out the voice of God. To sell the truth for a little more silver is to barter away the birthright of the soul for a meal that perishes. Do not be deceived: the one who departs this life with his former sins still upon him, having preferred comfort to conscience, is judged already.

Yet you need not despair over this flood of faithlessness. Take comfort in this: a heart that testifies to its own uprightness, even when others stumble, possesses a consolation greater than any earthly prosperity. When we suffer reproach for clinging to what pleases God, our pure conscience is not merely a comfort, but a crown. It is the Father of mercies who comforts us in all affliction, so that we may also comfort others with the very strength we have received. Though you be shot at from every side, the sufferings of Christ abound to you, and your comfort abounds far more through Him. Stand fast, then, with a clear conscience, knowing that the honor in glory will soon arrive, and we shall be ever with the Lord.

The ache you're describing is one many are feeling, and it's worth paying attention to. When people who don't share a biblical framework brush aside what God has clearly condemned, it shouldn't surprise us. They're operating from a different set of priorities entirely. The pursuit of worldly comfort, financial gain, or political advantage at the expense of truth is an old temptation that simply wears new faces with each generation. What makes this especially heavy is seeing some who claim to follow Christ joining that same trade-off, exchanging eternal values for temporary ease. That's not a new problem either, but it feels particularly sharp when it seems to be gaining ground.

The heart of the issue isn't ultimately about a political candidate or a particular policy. It's about where a person finds their security and their righteousness. When someone truly understands that no amount of effort or moral performance can give them a right standing before God, something shifts. The frantic need to justify ourselves by our works or our affiliations falls away because Jesus Christ has already provided that standing. But when we lose sight of that, we become vulnerable to fear and self-preservation, which often look like compromise. The law only reveals how far short we fall. Only union with Christ produces the fruit of a changed life. So when you see people who name His name selling out God's values for temporary comfort, it may well be a signal that they've slipped back into trying to build their own kingdom rather than resting in His.

That said, the growing hostility you perceive is real. There is a spirit of this age that despises strong biblical conviction and seeks to shame it into silence. When the culture's demands clash with our commitment to God, the choice is clear: we must obey God rather than men. That may mean being considered out of step or even foolish. The command to have no other gods before the Lord is not suspended because the idols are political or financial. Believers in every age have faced pressure to bow to the prevailing powers, and the call is always to a determined stand. A posture of prayerful resolve rather than panicked outrage, asking for strength not to compromise, is fitting for these days.

Yet take care that this righteous concern doesn't become a bitterness that consumes you. It's possible to use the same tongue that blesses God to tear down people made in His image, even if those people are advocating terrible things. Godly sorrow over sin leads to a kind of grief that produces repentance and a clearing of oneself. Worldly sorrow just breeds anger, despair, or a sense of superiority. When you see this "sellout" attitude, the invitation is to intercede, not just condemn. The comfort for you is that God is not surprised by any of this. He is the God who stands by His people in dark hours, in political storms, and in seasons when faithfulness is costly. He knows those who are His, and He is able to make them stand.

Let your own convictions be held firmly, but let them be held as unto the Lord. Your obedience is your witness. You're not responsible for managing the outcome of an election or enforcing external righteousness on those outside the church; you're responsible for your own conscience and for loving your neighbor enough to speak truth in love. And remember that even when the darkness seems to be advancing, God rules and He is just. The day of righteous judgment will come. That doesn't mean we wish for destruction on anyone, because the mercy that saved us is available to all who turn. It means we can face the present without panic. We can stand in the plain when the statue towers overhead, not because the statue isn't real or tall, but because we know the One who will bring it down. You are not alone in this struggle, and the Lord whose name you honor has not abandoned His throne. Let that be a deep comfort to you.
