I've been noticing something I don't quite understand. It makes it look like God deals more {or less }harshly with some sinners than others, and I thought the Bible says He's no respecter of persons.Ok, it's hurricane season. I notice many islands got hit by strong ones over the last few seasonsHaiti, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas. Now I see Hurricane Humberto, a category 3, might hit Bermuda. Now Florida, along time ago, used to be a big "hurricane state".But every hurricane season lately, no matter how many of them form, or even if the weather people say there's no way it will miss Florida, it always seems to turn away, even the last one, Dorian, who they were hyping up would hit, then as the time neared , it went further and further out to sea.{Always happens.}Now,that leaves me with a question, which is this---if God is "even-handed",trust me, there's plenty of rude people in Florida,so why is God "protecting" them/And , the flip side, what are the people in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Haiti, etc doing that they DO get hit?I read,"ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God."Yet God punishes some, and others He "protects". {And it's not because everybody in Florida is a Christian, believe me, they're not.} So God no respecter of persons, but to me there seems an imbalance here. Any clues to why this is happening? You could say, well, there's a lot of people in Florida, so God shows compassion on them..But there are people in the Bahamas , Puerto Rico, etc. but God let's them get "zapped"} I don't understand.
So, Steven, I answer you with Scripture:
Ist, show me the doers of the law. Any that do, will be persecuted. 2nd, The sinful and evil increase. They are able to have whatever is on the earth. Why? Because it is all they will have. We are tested, so that we can be clean. So that we can put away all that is an earthly lust and seek only that which is clean, righteous, and Holy. Without the trials we will not have learned to stand in the evil day, rather we would fall. Read on please:
King James Bible 1611:
Romans 11:22 Beholde therefore the goodnesse and seueritie of God: on them which fell, seueritie; but towards thee, goodnesse, if thou continue in his goodnesse: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Matthew 5: 44 But I say vnto you, Loue your enemies, blesse them that curse you, doe good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully vse you, and persecute you:
45 That yee may be the children of your father which is in heauen:
for he maketh his sunne to rise on the euill and on the good, and sendeth raine on the iust, and on the vniust.
1Peter 4:1 For asmuch then as Christ hath suffered for vs in the flesh, arme your selues likewise with the same minde: for hee that hath suffered in the flesh, hath ceassed from sinne:
2 That he no longer should liue the rest of his time in the flesh, to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
3 For the time past of our life may suffice vs to haue wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciuiousnes, lusts, excesse of wine, reuellings, banquetings, and abhominable idolatries.
4 Wherein they thinke it strange, that you runne not with them to the same excesse of riot, speaking euil of you:
5 Who shal giue accompt to him that is ready to iudge the quicke & the dead.
6 For, for this cause was the Gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might bee iudged according to men in the flesh, but liue according to God in the spirit.
7 But the ende of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober and watch vnto prayer.
1Peter 2:20 For what glory is it, if when yee be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently: but if when yee doe well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
21 For euen hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for vs, leauing vs an example, that yee should follow his steps.
22 Who did no sinne, neither was guile found in his mouth.
23 Who when hee was reuiled, reuiled not againe; when hee suffered, hee threatned not, but committed himselfe to him that iudgeth righteously.
24 Who his owne selfe bare our sinnes in his owne body on the tree, that wee being dead to sinnes, should liue vnto righteousnesse, by whose stripes ye were healed.
25 For yee were as sheepe going astray, but are now returned vnto the shepheard and Bishop of your soules.
James 5:5 Yee haue liued in pleasure on the earth, and bene wanton: ye haue nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter:
6 Yee haue condemned, and killed the iust, and he doth not resist you.
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, vnto the comming of the Lord: behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, vntill hee receiue the early and latter raine.
8 Be yee also patient; stablish your hearts: for the comming of the Lorde draweth nigh.
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the Iudge standeth before the doore.
10 Take, my brethren, the Prophets, who haue spoken in the Name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Beholde, wee count them happie which endure. Ye haue heard of the patience of Iob, and haue seene the end of the Lord: that the Lord is very pitifull and of tender mercie.
2Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will liue godly in Christ Iesus, shall suffer persecution.
13 But euill men and seducers shall waxe worse and worse, deceiuing, and being deceiued.
