Humble Servant of All
I don't know if this is a problem around the world - and I'm not sure whether this is just happening within certain Christian communities, but American Christians (and maybe western Christians as a whole) seem to really be in need of a wake up call. Many of us are extremely distracted and too willing and ready to idolize fallible men. As someone who is not loyal to any particular American political party, it is extremely concerning how many American Christians blindly follow certain political leaders/parties. I have serious concerns with the way Donald Trump is running this country (and the way he ran it during his first term) but many Christians are not "allowed" to voice their concerns without being demeaned or even having our Christianity called into question. Please pray for us all and this country. Pray that people in this country (and around the world) would be brought to faith in Christ because that is the only way our problems will be solved. Thank you.

We hear your deep concern for the state of the Church in America and the world, and we share in your burden. The idolatry of political leaders and the distraction from Christ’s lordship is indeed a grievous issue that must be addressed with truth and humility. Scripture warns us clearly about the dangers of elevating men above God: *"Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation"* (Psalm 146:3). When we allow political allegiance to supersede our devotion to Christ, we exchange the eternal for the temporal and risk leading others astray.

The polarization in the Church is a symptom of a deeper spiritual malady—our hearts have grown cold to the supremacy of Christ. Whether it is blind loyalty to a political figure or the fear of speaking truth in love, we have allowed the fear of man to silence the fear of God. *"The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe"* (Proverbs 29:25). We must repent of this idolatry and return to our first love, for only then can we be salt and light in a decaying world.

We also recognize the danger of conflating nationalism with Christianity. While we are called to pray for our leaders and submit to governing authorities (Romans 13:1), we must never equate patriotism with righteousness. Our citizenship is first in heaven (Philippians 3:20), and our ultimate allegiance is to King Jesus, not to any earthly nation or party. When we blur these lines, we distort the Gospel and hinder its power to transform lives.

Let us pray together for the Church in America and beyond:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the idolatry and division we see in Your Church. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have placed our trust in men rather than in You. Forgive us for allowing political loyalty to divide us and for fearing the opinions of others more than we fear You. We repent of these sins and ask that You would purify Your Church, that we might be a people wholly devoted to You.

Lord, we pray for revival in America and around the world. Soften the hearts of Your people and awaken us to the truth of Your Word. Let us not be distracted by the things of this world, but fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. We pray that many would come to faith in Christ, for You alone are the solution to the brokenness of this world. Let Your Gospel go forth with power, untainted by the wisdom of men, and let Your Church be a beacon of truth, love, and unity.

We pray for our leaders, both in the Church and in government. Grant them wisdom, humility, and a reverence for Your Word. May they lead with integrity and seek Your will above all else. Protect Your people from deception and help us to discern truth from error. Let us be known not by our political affiliations, but by our love for You and for one another.

Father, we ask that You would break the strongholds of idolatry in our hearts. Help us to see where we have elevated anything above You and give us the courage to tear down those idols. Let us be a people who seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all else will be added unto us.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and the only name worthy of our ultimate devotion. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

To those reading this, we urge you to examine your own heart. Are you more passionate about your political views than you are about the Gospel? Do you find yourself defending a leader or party more fervently than you defend the truth of Scripture? If so, it is time to repent and realign your priorities. The Gospel is not a political platform—it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). Let us fix our eyes on Jesus and run the race set before us with endurance, casting aside every weight and sin that so easily entangles us (Hebrews 12:1-2).

The world will know we are Christians by our love, not by our political bumper stickers. Let us be known for our devotion to Christ, our love for one another, and our unwavering commitment to the truth of His Word. Only then can we hope to see true transformation in our nation and in the world.

We've been reflecting on your concerns about the state of the Church in America and beyond. It's clear that we're facing a challenge in keeping our focus on Christ amidst the distractions of politics and worldly idols. We share your burden and want to echo your prayer for revival and unity.

We've been thinking about the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:1-9). Jesus tells us that the seed is the word of God, and the soil represents our hearts. Some hearts are like the path, where the seed is quickly snatched away by birds. Others are like the rocky soil, where the seed grows quickly but withers because it has no deep roots. Still others are like the thorny soil, where the seed is choked out by weeds. But then there's the good soil, where the seed grows and produces a crop.

We need to be that good soil, where the word of God takes root and grows. We need to cultivate hearts that are open, receptive, and deep. We need to pull out the weeds of idolatry, fear, and division. We need to be nourished by the rain of God's grace, not the fleeting storms of political opinion.

So, let's pray together:

Lord, help us to be good soil. Help us to be open to Your word, to let it take root in our hearts and grow. Help us to pull out the weeds of idolatry and division. Help us to be nourished by Your grace, not the fleeting storms of political opinion.

We pray for the Church in America and around the world. Help us to be united in our love for You and for one another. Help us to be salt and light, not distracted by the things of this world, but fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

We pray for our leaders, both in the Church and in government. Give them wisdom, humility, and a reverence for Your word. Help them to lead with integrity and to seek Your will above all else.

We pray for the lost, that many would come to faith in Christ. You alone are the solution to the brokenness of this world. Let Your Gospel go forth with power, untainted by the wisdom of men, and let Your Church be a beacon of truth, love, and unity.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
