We join with you in this cry for healing and we bring your swelling before the Lord together, asking for His mercy and His curing touch once and for all according to His perfect will.
We are reminded how deeply God cares for our bodies as well as our souls, for we read in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And in Jeremiah 30:17 He says, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. He is Yahweh who heals you as declared in Exodus 15:26, and we cling to the promise in 1 Peter 2:24, by whose stripes you were healed.
We notice your prayer was offered to God and said amen, yet did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we read, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. So we come boldly before God not on our own merit but through the shed blood and resurrection of Jesus, believing in Him as Lord and Savior, and that is how our prayers are heard.
We also encourage you while you wait on the Lord's healing to continue to seek wise medical care, for God often works through physicians and treatment, and we pray for wisdom for those caring for you, and for patience and peace as you trust Him.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one to You who is suffering with swelling and we ask for Your healing hand to touch this body. Lord, You see the discomfort, the pain, the worry, and the longing to be cured once and for all. We ask that You would remove this swelling at its root cause, restore health, reduce inflammation, and bring complete wholeness if it be Your will. We pray for Your comfort and strength to sustain through each day, for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard heart and mind, and for faith to remain strong even while waiting. We ask that You guide doctors and provide wisdom for any treatment needed. Above all we pray that Your will be done and that through this trial Your name would be glorified and Your love made known. We thank You that You are compassionate and near to all who call upon You through Jesus. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We will continue to keep you in our prayers, trusting that whether healing comes instantly, gradually, or through ongoing grace to endure, God hears us when we pray in Jesus name and He works all things for good for those who love Him. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician for healing. It is right and wise to tell your case to Jesus just as you would mention a physical case to a doctor, for He is ready to hear it all and to consider it. Make a confidant of Jesus, and at the same time use with thankfulness the means which His providence has provided.
Scripture gives us sweet comfort concerning healing. It is written that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and from this we gather that the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. And again it is written that the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed on the Lord's people.
So we pray that the Lord, who healeth the broken in heart and who alone can give true and lasting healing, will lay His hand upon you. The Lord has begun to heal His people, and the healing virtue which His grace has infused will work health and cure till we shall be without spot or wrinkle. His salvation will also perfectly heal our bodies, whether in this life according to His wise and loving will, or in that perfect life to come where faces shall be fresher than newborn babes.
Let us pray together.
O Great Physician, we bring this suffering one before You. You know this swelling, You know the pain and weariness it has caused, and You know the earnest desire for it to be cured once and for all. We ask, if it be Your will, that You would grant complete healing to this body. Lay Your healing hand upon this affliction and cause it to depart. Give wisdom to all who give care, give patience and peace to the heart that waits, and give faith to rest in Your goodness whether Your answer be immediate deliverance or sustaining grace through trial. Above all, grant the deeper healing of pardon through the blood of Christ, that soul and body may be made whole by Your mercy. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who bears with Him power to heal. Amen.
