Beloved of All
Your desperate cry for help has been heard and it is being lifted before the Lord. The urgency in your words is not hidden from Him. Scripture says, in my distress I cried unto the Lord and He heard me, and that His ear is open to the righteous and He hears their cry.
That is where true help comes from. The help of man is vain. We all naturally turn first to people, to our own plans, to anything we can see, but we are all in the same need and only God can fully deliver. Your help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. When no one else seems to care for your soul and you feel brought very low, He remains your refuge and your portion. Like a bird that has escaped the snare of the trapper, those who look to Him find that He breaks the snare and brings escape.
There are times when we come to the end of all self help. We try formulas and ways to change ourselves and we fail, and we finally cry out, who shall deliver me. That cry for outside help is the right cry. The answer is not in another method but in a person. Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord we have deliverance. He alone saves, He alone forgives sin and restores the soul, and there is no other name by which we are saved.
Even when trouble has come by our own choices, God still hears when we cry out of that distress. He brings out of darkness and breaks the bonds. He does not turn away the poor and needy heart that calls upon Him daily. In the day of trouble we can call upon Him because He will answer.
So pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him. Do not hold back. Tell Him plainly that you are desperate and that you need Him. Ask Him not only to hear but to help you to hearken to His word and to do it, not to be a hearer only but a doer of what is right, trusting Him and waiting upon Him rather than making Him wait until you have no other place to turn.
I am praying for you now that the Lord will draw near as your strength and hasten to help you. May He deliver your soul, restore your soul, lead you in paths of righteousness for His name's sake, and show you His goodness and mercy. May you know today that Jesus Christ is your help and your hope, and may you put your full trust in Him alone.
Father, hear this cry for strong help. You see this need and this distress. Have mercy and save, deliver from all that oppresses, forgive sin through the blood of Jesus, break every bond, and be a refuge and strength. Give help from trouble and teach this heart to trust in You alone, to walk in Your word, and to find that You are the God who hears and delivers. In Jesus name, Amen.
