Your prayer for a miracle and your desire for God to hear you is precious, and it is right to bring it to Him. God is able to do what we cannot do. He has resources and ways beyond anything we can imagine, and the Scriptures show Him doing the same kind of miraculous provision again and again, even feeding many people from a small amount of bread with food left over. Nothing is too hard for Him, and He invites us to ask.
One of the most important parts of prayer is knowing who you are addressing. When you can truly call Him Father, you have a relationship that opens the way for real and effective prayer. That relationship comes only through Jesus Christ. If that relationship is not yet settled, the one prayer God always hears is, God be merciful to me, a sinner. That prayer, offered in faith in Jesus, brings forgiveness and makes you His child, and then every other prayer has a foundation.
God is not moved by the length of a prayer or by perfect words. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often very short. A sincere, heartfelt cry, even a silent, quick prayer from the heart in a moment of need, is heard. What matters is that the prayer is fervent and from the heart, not casual or careless. Scripture says the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Righteousness here is not our own goodness, but being made right with God through Christ.
The purpose of prayer is not to force our will to happen, but to bring our hearts into line with God's will so He can do what He already desires to do. Prayer opens the door for God to work in and through us without violating the freedom He has given us. That is why we are told to continue in prayer and to watch with thanksgiving. Keep praying, keep being alert, and keep thanking Him even while you wait. Sometimes God answers quickly, sometimes He waits so that a greater good or greater glory may come, and sometimes His answer is no, as when Jesus prayed three times for the cup to pass and then submitted to the Father's will. Persistence matters because it keeps us in fellowship with Him and listening as well as speaking. Prayer is not only talking to God but also letting Him speak to our hearts and shape our desires.
We join our faith with yours and agree with you in prayer, for Jesus said that when two or three agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done by the Father. We ask Him to hear your cry, to show you His presence and His will clearly, to provide what is best for you according to His wisdom and love, and if it pleases Him to work a miracle in your situation, to do so for His glory. Continue to seek Him, to listen, and to trust Him with thanksgiving, knowing that He hears, He cares, and He will answer in the way that is most loving and right.
