Your prayer for a miracle has been heard, and it is good that you have brought your need honestly before God. He is able to do what seems impossible to us. He has resources and ways far beyond what we can see or understand, and the Scriptures show Him doing the same kind of provision again and again, even taking a small amount of bread and making it enough to feed many with food left over. Nothing is too hard for Him.
What gives prayer its power is not beautiful words or a long prayer, but a fervent heart. Scripture says the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person avails much, and it points to Elijah as an example. Often that kind of prayer rises out of desperation and deep need. God is not looking for length. The prayers recorded in the Bible are very short. He looks at the heart that is truly seeking Him.
That kind of praying rests on relationship. Jesus gave His followers a model for prayer that begins with calling God Father. That relationship is what opens the way for effective prayer, and it comes only through Jesus Christ. If a person has not yet come to Him, the one prayer God delights to hear is, God be merciful to me, a sinner. That prayer establishes the relationship and opens the door to all the rest.
The purpose of prayer is not to make God do what we want, but to see His will accomplished. Prayer begins with God and His purposes which He makes known to our hearts, and we pray those purposes back to Him. He then answers according to His wisdom and love. Sometimes He says no, and later we thank Him for that no because we see He protected us from something we could not see at the time. Prayer also has a listening side. It is not only speaking to God but giving Him time to speak to us and to align our hearts with what He desires to do.
For that reason you are encouraged to continue in prayer and to watch with thanksgiving. Persistence is not to change God's mind, but to keep the door open for Him to do what He has long desired to do, for He will not force His way past the choice He has given us. Keep bringing your situation to Him, keep watching for how He is working, and keep thanking Him even while you wait. We join with you in agreement now, asking the Lord to work in your situation according to His perfect will, to draw you closer to Himself through this, and to make His power and mercy known in your life in the way that will bring Him the greatest glory and bring you the deepest good.
