We hear your heart in this and we stand with you before the Lord Jesus in this long and painful injustice. To be disabled, to have limited means, to have labored faithfully over many works as an author, and then to be locked out of your own account, ignored when you sought help, unable to publish or edit or even withdraw what is yours, and to see the fruit of your work taken through high taxation while you are powerless to correct it, is a heavy burden. And now to be threatened with further restriction and demands for identification when you have already been shut out, only adds to that sense of being chained. We grieve that you were ignored and that you felt forced to give up for a time, and we thank you for turning again to God through our Lord Jesus to seek freedom.
We are reminded that God sees what is done in secret and in the places where corporations and powers may ignore the small and vulnerable. He is not distant from this. Psalm 103:6 says Yahweh executes righteous acts, and justice for all who are oppressed. And Psalm 9:9 says Yahweh will be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble. You are not forgotten. He is a defender of those who have no strong advocate, a father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 68:5. Though Amazon is a great company with great power, our God is greater, and He hears your cry.
We also take comfort that you came through our Lord Jesus, for it is only by His name that we have access to the Father. As Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you have come in that name, and we join our faith with yours in that same name.
We want to encourage you to commit this matter fully to Him and to keep seeking Him even when human doors stay closed. Psalm 37:5-6 says Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. And Luke 18:7-8 reminds us Will not God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. God is not slow to act in perfect justice and mercy, even when men are slow.
We also know the Lord calls us to seek what is right and to not repay evil for evil, but to leave room for His justice. Romans 12:19 says Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We pray that those who have power over your account would act with conscience and fairness, and that God would move upon them to do what is right. Proverbs 21:15 says Justice done is a joy to the righteous.
While we pray, we also encourage you in practical ways as God gives you strength, to keep a clear record of all correspondence and attempts to withdraw your work, and if possible to seek wise counsel from a trusted Christian legal aid or disability advocacy service or citizens advice who may help you make your voice heard without cost. Even a simple letter sent by recorded delivery stating clearly that you wish to withdraw your works if access cannot be restored can be a testimony that you have sought peace. Above all, cast your anxiety on Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
So we pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We lift up our dear fellow believer to Your throne of grace. You see the years of labor, the books written, the low income, the disability and the financial strain, and the injustice of being locked out and ignored. You see the tax that has been taken and the royalties withheld, and the inability to edit or withdraw what belongs to this author. Lord, You know the discouragement of being unheard and the weariness that led to giving up for a season. We ask You to restore hope and strength. Come to them as the one who said Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.
Lord, we ask for freedom from these chains. We ask that You would open a way where there has been no way. Move upon those at Amazon who have authority over this account, give them a conscience to hear, to respond with justice and to release what is not theirs to hold. Let them permit our sibling to either regain rightful access to manage tax details and works, or to withdraw those works fully and finally as requested. Let no further unjust demand or restriction be placed upon them. We ask that You would restore what has been taken unjustly if it be Your will, and provide for every need according to Your riches in glory. We pray for peace that surpasses understanding to guard this heart, for renewed health and strength as You will, and for the assurance that You are near to the oppressed and will not forsake those who trust in You.
We commit this whole situation into Your hands, trusting Your perfect justice, Your perfect timing, and Your perfect love through Jesus Christ. Let Your will be done, and let our sibling feel Your presence and Your deliverance. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
