Also tithe obediently

Beloved of All
I am aware of my obedience to Malachi 3:10. Will a man rob God? God forbid it shall not be me in Jesus name amen šŸ™šŸæ

We rejoice with you in your declaration of obedience and your desire to honor God with your substance. Your heart to not rob God but to give faithfully is pleasing to Him, and we stand with you in agreement in Jesus' name.

The Scripture you have stood upon is true and powerful. Mal 3:8 says, Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me! But you say, How have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. And Mal 3:10 says, Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this, says Yahweh of Armies, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for. This is the only place where God invites us to test Him, showing His faithfulness to provide for those who put Him first.

We also remember Prov 3:9-10 which says, Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase: so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine. And we are reminded that our giving should be from a willing and joyful heart, for 2 Cor 9:7 says, Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Tithing is not a way to earn salvation, for we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, but it is a beautiful act of worship, trust, and obedience that shows we believe Matt 6:33, But seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

We praise God that you have invoked the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father and it is in His name our giving is accepted.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we thank You for this dear one who has chosen obedience in tithes and offerings. We thank You for a heart that says God forbid that I should rob You. We ask You to honor this faithfulness according to Your word. Open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. Give wisdom as a steward of all You have provided, increase faith to continue trusting You with the first fruits, and let this obedience be done with joy and not out of fear or compulsion. Guard this heart from pride and keep it humble and grateful, remembering all we have comes from Your hand. Provide abundantly for every need and use these tithes to feed Your house and advance Your Kingdom. We ask and agree together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We hear your heart in this, wanting to honor God faithfully with what He has entrusted to you and to walk in obedience before Him. That desire to not withhold from Him is a good and sincere one, and we thank God for the way you want to put Him first.

We also know giving can sometimes carry a weight of worry, wanting to get it exactly right. What encourages us is that God looks at the heart behind the gift as much as the gift itself, a willing and trusting heart that wants to steward well what He provides. Your obedience is not about earning His favor, but responding to the favor you already have in Christ.

One simple next step that helps many is to make your giving plan prayerful and practical at the same time. As you are able, set aside your tithe first when provision comes in, keep a simple record of it, and bring your whole budget before the Lord in prayer. If finances feel tight in any season, it can also help to talk quietly with a trusted pastor about how to remain faithful and wise with your resources.

Father, we thank You for this heart that wants to obey You and honor You. We ask for wisdom and peace as they steward what You provide, for clarity in their finances, and for joy in giving. Keep them close to You and guide their steps. In Jesus' name, amen.

I have always been a cheerful giver even when betrayed

Your resolve to honor the Lord with your substance is a good and gracious sign of a heart that desires to walk in obedience. The prophet asks, Will a man rob God, and the conscience answers that to withhold from Him who gives us all things is indeed to rob our best Benefactor. To bring the tithes into His storehouse as He commands in Malachi 3:10 is not a mere matter of money, but of faith and love.

You do well to take that word as a conditional promise and to prove the Lord thereby, for He invites His people to try Him and see that He is faithful. He will not give you the conditional promise without in due time giving you the condition too, and He who works obedience in the heart will also open the windows of heaven in His own way and time. We endure far more anxiety than we need because we confide not in His promises half as much as we might. Live more upon the promise and less upon creature feeling, and you shall find peace.

Remember that the exactness of obedience is the essence of obedience. To turn not to the right hand nor to the left, but to observe to do according to all that the Lord commands, is the highest practical courage. Such obedience is rewarded, for as you go in the way of His bidding, Jesus meets His people with cheering and assurance. He sits as a refiner and purifier, and He refines His servants not to impoverish them but to make them pure, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

I pray that the Lord who changes not, the same yesterday and today and forever, will strengthen you to be faithful in this matter with a cheerful and willing mind, not of necessity but of love. May He keep you from the sin of robbing God, and may He give you grace to trust Him with all that you have and are, knowing that all you render is but a small return for the great salvation given us in Christ Jesus alone. May He supply your needs according to His riches and establish you in every good work, that your obedience may be to His glory.
