Almighty God Protects His Children

O LORD OUR GOD, I PRAY, SAVE US FROM HIS HAND.

THAT ALL THE KINGDOMS OF THE EARTH MAY KNOW

THAT YOU ARE THE LORD GOD, YOU ALONE.

2 KINGS 19:19

SOMETHING HAPPENS WHEN WE PRAY;

POWERS OF EVIL LOSE THEIR SWAY,

WE GAIN STRENGTH, AND FEAR GIVES WAY-

THEREFORE, LET US PRAY.

We start the month of June with a look at King Hezekiah of Israel. Perhaps he is best known as the king who had his life extended for fifteen years. But, today's verse concerns Hezekiah's prayer for God to save Israel from the hands of the powerful Assyrian King Sennacherib.

As today's comment notes, prayer is a mighty force which cannot be overcome if it pleases God to answer our requests.

God's answer to Hezekiah was that He would defeat Sennacherib and prove that the God of Israel was the one and only true God.

He would make this His statement to all the nations. It doesn't matter who Satan finds and uses to foment his evil upon the world, God will always defeat him.

I hope that this is an encouragement to you as our own nation faces uncertain times and some very wicked and evil events are proceeding from our so-called leaders.

Let us pray as Hezekiah did to the One True God and plead with Him to take up our plight and deliver us from the evil all around us.
