Allowing God To Be Glorified In Your Life

Have you ever felt as if your life is one big dumping ground? Issues surround you so great it would take several large bulldozers to find you. You are not alone. God is with you and He promises to "never leave you nor forsake you." Have you read the story of Paul? The Lord blinded him to get his attention. Then upon acceptance it did not get any easier. He was stoned, beaten and imprisoned and that did not stop him! He even wrote from prison to glorify God. Can God use your life to bring glory to Himself? Will you allow Him?

In your situation ask God, "Have I done something that I need to repent of?" If that is not the case then maybe He is trying to teach you something that you might not learn otherwise or draw a passion and a purpose out of you. Maybe your trouble is the result of someone else's bad choices and free will. If it is none of those then it just might be like Paul, God wants to be glorified in your situation.

Remember Elijah in the book of I Kings? The people has strayed yet again, nothing new huh? Elijah and spoke earlier that there would be no rain and so there had been a drought in the land and there were many false prophets of Baal that the people were following. Baal is not real and neither is the gods of today, alcohol, drugs, money. You can even put other people in such a high place of importance that they become an idol. Your problems can become an idol if your focus is consumed by them. God will do what it takes to get your attention or the people in your life that will be a witness to what He will do.

Elijah was commanded to drench the wood on the altar so there would be no NATURAL way possible to light the wood. No natural way, not by your will but by His. (Zechariah 4:6)"This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty.†Elijah did as commanded and the Lord lit up the altar and consumed it with His Holy fire and burnt everything up! That got the Israelites attention. Allowing God to be glorified in your situation will get the attention of the people in your life. He died for you; will you allow Him to do a work in your life for His glory? Trust Him and lean not on your own understanding; just simply trust Him. The work of the cross was such a huge display of love and affection for us that we should never doubt His love. He will not fail you; He will not forsake you and He will not leave you and when the work is done He will deliver you. The altar was drenched the people rededicated their hearts to God and the rain came!

(I Kings 18:30-39) “Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come here to me.†They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the Lord, which had been torn down. Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying, “Your name shall be Israel.†With the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord, and he dug a trench around it large enough to hold two seahs of seed. He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, “Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood.†“Do it again,†he said, and they did it again. “Do it a third time,†he ordered, and they did it the third time. The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench. At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that You are God in Israel and that I am Your servant and have done all these things at Your command. Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that You, Lord, are God, and that You are turning their hearts back again.†Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord—He is God! The Lord—He is God!â€

I KNOW MANY TIMES THE HARD THINGS I'VE SUFFERED HAVE BEEN TO SHOW ME HIS DELIVERING POWER, MOST EVERYTIME THE CIRCUMSTANCES LOOKED HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE. WHATS NOT POSSIBLE WITH MAN IS POSSIBLE WITH OUR LORD.
