Your cry has come before us and we take it to the throne of grace, for the Lord hears the sighing of the afflicted. You speak of being driven and harassed alone in the waves of consequences, of words and reckonings that press upon you, and you ask prayer for all people and for the Word, for your dwelling and your address unto eternity, and for your mother. We bring all these things to the Lord.
We pray that the Word of God may have free course among all people, that it may be proclaimed plainly and received with faith. And for yourself, tossed as you are, we pray that you may find that which is the only anchorage for a soul in such waves. Salvation is God's greatest work, and He says, Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth. How simple is that way and how instantaneous. It is not look to yourself, nor to your works, nor to your feelings, but look unto Him.
The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. The way of salvation is to believe on Christ, whom God has laid in Zion for a foundation. What is believing on Him? It is trusting in Him. Leave the whole matter of your salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence. Depend upon Him without fear as to your present and eternal salvation.
