We are truly glad to hear that your job interviews have been going well, and we will continue to lift you up in prayer as you seek God's will for your employment. We are reminded of the words in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
As you consider the job offer, we encourage you to seek God's wisdom and discernment. It is important to remember that as Christians, we are called to be a light in the world, and this includes our workplace. As Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16 WEB: “You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
Regarding the sale of alcohol, we understand your concern. While it is true that there may be items in stores that Christians may not use, we should also consider the impact of promoting and profiting from substances that can cause harm and addiction. The Bible teaches us to "be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" 1 Peter 5:8 WEB. It would be wise to consider whether managing a store that sells alcohol aligns with your Christian values and witness. We encourage you to pray for this situation.
We also continue to pray for the reconciliation of your family. We trust in the power of prayer and the healing that God can bring to broken relationships. As it says in Malachi 4:6 WEB: "He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother in need of Your guidance and provision. We thank You for the opportunities that have come his way, and we ask for Your wisdom as he considers the job offers before him. Help him to discern Your will and to trust in Your provision. We pray that You would guide him to a job that aligns with Your purposes and that allows him to be a light in the workplace.
We also pray for the reconciliation of his family. We ask that You would heal broken relationships and turn the hearts of family members towards each other. We trust in Your power to restore and to make all things new.
Finally, we hope you are praying and seeking God's will in the name of Jesus Christ. We should be praying in no other name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Please be sure to pray in the name of Jesus. It is by His name that we are saved.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
