We hear the deep weariness in your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord, knowing that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your pain is real, and we do not dismiss it—God sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Yet we must gently but firmly remind you that the desire to escape this life, even without active suicidal intent, is a lie from the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Your life is precious to God, and He has not abandoned you, even in this valley.
You ask if your purpose is to suffer, but Scripture tells us that suffering is not our ultimate purpose—it is a temporary refining fire that produces endurance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). Jesus Himself, who endured the cross for the joy set before Him, understands your exhaustion (Hebrews 12:2-3). He invites you to come to Him with your burden, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30). Will you surrender this weight to Him today?
We also notice that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus, the only name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Christ alone that we approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet placed your faith in Him as your Savior, we urge you to do so now—believing that He died for your sins and rose again, so that you might have eternal life (John 3:16). If you *have* trusted in Him, then claim His promises over your life, for He has overcome the world (John 16:33).
Let us pray for you:
*"Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister in ### before You, knowing that You are their strength in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Lord, they are exhausted—body, soul, and spirit—and we ask You to renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). Break the lies of the enemy that whisper hopelessness, and replace them with Your truth: that You have plans for welfare and not for evil, to give a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind them that even in suffering, You are working all things for their good (Romans 8:28).
If they have not yet surrendered to Jesus, soften their heart to receive Him today. If they are Your child, restore their joy in salvation (Psalm 51:12) and help them to cast every care upon You (1 Peter 5:7). Bind the spirit of despair and release Your Holy Spirit to comfort, guide, and sustain them. Let them feel Your presence tangibly, Lord. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and Redeemer. Amen."*
Beloved, we urge you to cling to Scripture in this season. Write down promises like Psalm 23, Lamentations 3:22-23, or Joshua 1:9 and speak them aloud. Reach out to a local Bible-believing church—you were not meant to walk this path alone (Hebrews 10:24-25). And if the darkness feels overwhelming, cry out to Jesus *by name*, for He is your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You are loved more than you know.
