If you have followed, my saga, you are aware of the difficulties that I have been through.

Three years ago, my wife left me and then she stole my children. I had moved from Alaska to Texas to set up our new home and to start a new job; my wife and stepdaughter were headed overseas to visit family.

I pleaded with God to take me back to Alaska. I had hoped that being in Alaska would result in the reconciliation of my family. Finally, on August 19, 2024, God answered my prayer by providing a first-class ticket from California to Alaska courtesy of my previous company.

Over the last year, I have endured a lot of grief. I lived in a shelter for 4.5 months and then in the back of my van for 28 nights. I lost three really good jobs due to no fault of my own. Almost died on December 29, 2024, when I got locked out of my van and it was -23°F. On top of that, I have dealt with debilitating depression and sadness.

Over the last year, I’ve also seen some blessings. God has kept me afloat through DoorDash and the like. I’ve seen incredible northern lights, moose, and other wildlife. I’ve seen incredible mountains, lakes, and vistas, etc. etc. Right now, I am living in a basement for free, so there have been some positives in that journey.

I love the rain! Rain gives me so much strength (Acts 14:17). I also love moose. I love to see those majestic creatures as they maneuver on the side of the road or in the backyard or on a hilltop.

God’s timing amazes me!

Moose are not as easy to find as one might think. One could easily go months without seeing one.

When I get really sad, I hope and pray for rain. On several occasions over the last several months, I have prayed that God would let me see a moose. God never disappointed me. He often led me down byways, which caused me to see a moose. It is amazing to me God’s timing.

For example, yesterday I had a really bad day and I prayed that God would let me see a moose. Today, despite the snow and the cold weather, I got up at 4:30 and went to do DoorDash. I drove 1 mile down the mountain and onto the main road as I turned right, I saw three moose passing over the road. If I had only been 30 seconds late to that location, I would’ve missed them. God answered my prayer again.

Again, over the last 45 months, I have prayed five times for God to let me see a moose, and either that day or the day after I would see one. It amazes me the timing of God.

Believe it or not, all of that gives me strength as I am confident that God’s timing is perfect. I have been praying without ceasing all this time for the reconciliation in my family. I believe God is working. It seems impossible, but I am confident that God is working.

I wanted to share that with people on this thread. It’s painful to pray and pray and pray and wait and wait and wait.

A comfortable place to live of my own
Strength to keep on going

We join together in lifting you up before the Lord, our brother, as we hear the deep sorrow and yet the unwavering faith in your words. Your testimony of God’s faithfulness—even in the smallest, most unexpected ways—is a powerful reminder that He sees, He hears, and He acts in His perfect timing. The moose He has sent as answers to your prayers are not mere coincidences but tender mercies from a Father who loves you deeply and knows the cries of your heart. As it is written, *"The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry"* (Psalm 34:15, WEB). You have clung to Him in the storm, and He has not abandoned you.

Yet we must also speak truth in love, for reconciliation—especially in marriage—requires more than just prayer; it demands a heart fully surrendered to God’s will and a life aligned with His Word. Marriage is a covenant before the Lord, and while we fervently pray for restoration, we must also ask: *Are you walking in obedience to Scripture in all areas of your life?* Have you examined your own heart for any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or idolatry that might hinder God’s work? The Lord calls us to *"search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way"* (Psalm 139:23-24, WEB). Reconciliation begins with repentance—yours and hers—and a commitment to honor God above all else, even if the outcome is not what you hope.

We notice you have not invoked the name of Jesus in your request, and this is no small matter. There is *no other name* by which we are saved, no other name through which we approach the Father. *"Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’* (John 14:6, WEB). It is only by His blood that we have access to the throne of grace, and it is in His name that we pray with authority. If you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Christ—trusting in His death and resurrection for your salvation—we urge you to do so now. Without Him, even the most heartfelt prayers lack the power to move heaven.

As for your wife and children, we pray that God would soften her heart and turn her back to Him—and to you—if it is His will. But we also pray that *you* would find your ultimate comfort in Christ alone, not in the restoration of your family. He is the one who *"heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). If reconciliation does not come, will you still praise Him? Will you still trust His goodness? We pray for strength to say, as Job did, *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him"* (Job 13:15, KJV).

We pray too for provision—a steady job, a home, and the daily bread you need. But more than these, we pray for *contentment* in whatever state you find yourself, knowing that *"godliness with contentment is great gain"* (1 Timothy 6:6, WEB). The shelter, the van, the basement—these are temporary, but your relationship with Christ is eternal. Let Him be your portion, even as you wait.

Finally, we rebuke the spirit of depression that has sought to steal your joy and hope. *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10, WEB). Satan wants you to believe the lie that God has forgotten you, but the moose on the road, the rain in the sky, the very breath in your lungs—these are all shouts of His love. Stand firm, brother. *"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you"* (James 4:7-8, WEB).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who has walked through the fire yet still declares Your faithfulness. Lord, You see his pain—the betrayal, the loneliness, the nights in the cold, the ache for his family. You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8), and You are not blind to his suffering.

We ask for reconciliation, if it aligns with Your will. Soften the heart of his wife; break the chains of bitterness or deception that may hold her. Restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25), Lord, if it brings You glory. But above all, let *him* be restored to You—whole, surrendered, and full of Your peace.

Provide for his needs, Father. Open doors for stable work, a place to call home, and brothers in Christ to walk beside him. Guard his mind from despair, and let him see Your hand in every sunrise, every moose on the road, every drop of rain. Remind him that You are *El Roi*, the God who sees (Genesis 16:13), and that You are working all things for his good (Romans 8:28).

Strengthen him to forgive, to hope, and to wait with patience. Let him not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season, he *will* reap if he does not faint (Galatians 6:9). And if the road ahead is not the one he longs for, give him grace to say, *"Not my will, but Yours be done"* (Luke 22:42).

We rebuked the enemy’s lies over his life. No weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill him with Your Spirit, Lord, and let him rise from this valley with a testimony that brings others to You.

In the precious name of Jesus—our Savior, our Healer, our Provider—we pray. Amen.

We're standing with you, brother, as you've shared your journey with such raw honesty and faith. It's incredible how God has shown up in the most unexpected ways, like the moose on the road. We believe that God's timing is perfect, and He's working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

We join you in praying for marital and family reconciliation. We ask God to soften hearts, heal broken relationships, and restore what has been lost. But above all, we pray for your strength and peace in Christ, no matter the outcome. Remember, God is your portion, and He is enough (Psalm 73:25-26).

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred honor of lifting you, your family, and your deep burdens before the Lord in these past days. Your story has moved our hearts—not just because of the hardships you’ve walked through, but because of the way you’ve clung to faith even in the wilderness. Like the psalmist, you’ve tasted both the bitterness of grief and the sweetness of God’s provision in the most unexpected ways, from the warmth of a free basement to the majesty of moose crossing your path at just the right moment. What a testimony to God’s intimate care, even when the bigger answers still tarry.

We’ve been praying with you for reconciliation—a miracle that feels impossible in human terms, yet we serve a God who specializes in the impossible (Luke 1:37). We’ve asked Him to open doors for steady work, a stable home, and the strength to endure each day with hope. And we’ve thanked Him alongside you for the small mercies that have kept you going: the northern lights dancing in the sky, the kindness of strangers, and the reminder that He hears even the prayers whispered over a longing to see His creation.
