Alaska / No job?

It is 3:43 AM and I have been doing DoorDash over one hour this. I’ve made two deliveries.

On June 16, 2025, I received bad news; I would no longer be employed as a laboratory manager. It was very unsettling, considering all the hard work I’d put in the job.

At the time, I had lived in my van for 28 nights. On that same day, I was given a free primitive apartment living in a basement. It’s almost like God knew a bad day was coming and he helped me get a better place to live.

Since then, I have had a number of job interviews. Good job, interviews. Unfortunately, despite going through all the motions; I have not secured a job.

Last week, I was told that I was hired as the manager for a local gas station, a very nice gas station. I was excited about it. However, since then I have not heard anything.

When you’re looking for a job and you do not hear anything; it’s usually a bad thing. The job was either rescinded or they found somebody else. It’s very disheartening!

I had worked previously for Volkswagen in a temporary position. I contacted the lady who is the recruiter and previously she had told me there was a position in New Jersey for eight weeks. I turned it down because I had the job at the gas station. The last two days I’ve talked to her, hoping that one position is left for me. Yesterday, she told me she thought there might be one position and she would get back with me by the days in, but never did.

I really need a job. I’m willing to go to New Jersey and work eight weeks.

So I do DoorDash once or twice every day and try to stay above water financially. I don’t have the best vehicle for DoorDash and so I spend a lot of money on gas.

I know God is fully aware of my situation and I am 100% confident; he will provide. In the meantime, I am suffering and I am 100% exhausted.

Marriage

My wife left me a few years ago and stole my children. I had gone to Texas for a job to take care of my family. She stayed behind in Alaska.

For over a year, I pleaded with God to take me back to Alaska. Finally, on August 19, 2024, God answered my prayer with the first class ticket from San Francisco to Alaska. I moved to Alaska with no place to live in no car to drive. I had a job as a teacher and a coach.

I’ve been here all this time and I have suffered ups and downs that I could write a book about. I keep praying and I keep hoping but nothing so far.

My dreams are filled with images of my children, and my family, and I wake up exhausted and depressed.

I have read the psalms probably 30 times since October 2023. I try and read them at least once a month.

Please pray for me!

We are truly sorry to hear about the trials you are facing, and we want you to know that we are here to pray and counsel with you through these challenges. We commend you for your faith in God's provision and your persistent effort to find work. Your trust is rooted in the right place.

Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of prayer in Jesus' name. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we are saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Let us keep this truth at the center of our prayers.

Regarding your job situation, we encourage you to stay steadfast in your faith and continue seeking God's will. It is a blessing to have a free place to live, one of the ways God is looking after you. Remember the words of Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." God has a plan for you, and this season of waiting is part of it. Keep trusting in Him and remember these encouragements.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is seeking Your provision and guidance. Lord, You know his needs and the desires of his heart. We ask that You open the right doors for him and provide a job that not only meets his financial needs but also allows him to use his gifts and talents for Your glory. Help him to trust in Your timing and to remain patient as he waits for Your answer.

Father, strengthen him in his weariness and in his exhaustion. Grant him supernatural endurance as he makes ends meet and continues to trust in You.

Give him clear direction on his next steps. Whether it is to continue looking for opportunities in Alaska or to consider the temporary position in New Jersey, Lord, we ask Your will be clear and evident.

We also lift up his family situation to You. We pray for his wife and children, asking that You soften hearts and bring restoration where there is brokenness. Lord, You are a God of reconciliation and redemption. We trust You will be the repairer of the breach in his life. We pray he can be reunited with his family and a father to his children, as marriage is a sacred covenant before you.

Remember his heart Lord as he carries the burden of past hurts and disappointments. Wash him afresh with your agape love.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Concerning your marriage, we want to remind you of the sanctity of marriage as designed by God. It is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and we encourage you to continue praying for restoration and reconciliation. Remember the words of Malachi 2:16 WEB: "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don't deal treacherously."

Keep trusting in God's plan for your life and your family. He is faithful, and He will see you through this challenging time. Continue to read the Psalms and find comfort in God's Word. As it is written in Psalm 34:18 WEB: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

Lastly, we want to address the importance of praying in Jesus' name. As believers, our prayers should be directed to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. This is based on the teachings of Jesus Himself, as He said in John 14:13-14 WEB: "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."

If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It is through Him that we have access to God and the assurance of salvation. As it is written in Romans 10:9-10 WEB: "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Stay strong in the Lord, and keep trusting in His promises. We are here to support and pray for you every step of the way.

Hey there,

Just wanted to chime in and say we're thinking of you and praying for you too. It's tough out there, we know, but we're confident that God's got you, just like He's got us all.

We love how you're staying hopeful and persistent, even in the face of uncertainty. It's a real testament to your faith. We're right there with you, believing that God's got a plan and a purpose in all this.

Let's keep trusting in Him, together. Let's keep praying, together. Let's keep hoping, together. Because we know, without a doubt, that our God is faithful and He's working all things together for our good.

Keep your chin up, brother. We're in this together.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
