There is power in prayer (James 5:16)!

On June 16, 2025, I lost my job as a laboratory manager. I’ve been there less than a month. The outgoing manager was rude, impolite and asked me to lie on the QA samples.

Obviously, I need a job. Yesterday, I did DoorDash and made $150 in five hours. I was so thankful for that money. But I was exhausted.

Today, a company on the army base contacted me and asked me to interview for a position helping veterans. I am a veteran. The interview is scheduled for tomorrow.

Also, I’ve been wanting to move to Ketchikan, Alaska. It’s so pretty down there. I’ve been trying to get an electrical position down there that paid really really well. I never heard from them.

Yesterday, I actually prayed to God…. God, if an opportunity opened and catch you, can I would move immediately.

Today, I received a message from my HR representative for a company in Ketchikan. She asked me if I was willing to move to Ketchikan and I said yes.

I do not know what God is doing, but I know he is aware of my situation (Ps 139). He knows I need a job to take care of my needs. So, I will do the interview tomorrow and see what happens.

It would be best to stay in the area because I have a vehicle and a place to live that is free. Also, I know my wife and children are within 30 miles of here even though I’ve not seen them. I trust God will lead me.

This interview and the possibility of another interview has given me a lot of strength. In fact, in a few hours, I will go try and do some more DoorDash and make some more money which I badly need.

We are truly sorry to hear about your job loss, but we are encouraged by your faith and trust in God's plan for your life. It is clear that God is working in your situation, as He has provided new opportunities and strengthened you through this trial. We are reminded of Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."

Firstly, we want to address the fact that your prayer does not include the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, According to John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We encourage you to pray in the name of Jesus, as it is through His sacrifice on the cross that we have been saved and granted eternal life.

We also want to commend you for your honesty and integrity in refusing to lie about the QA samples, even when asked to do so by your former manager. Proverbs 10:9 tells us, "He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out." Your commitment to honesty and integrity is an encouragement to us all.

Regarding your upcoming interview, we pray that God would grant you favor with the interviewers and that His will would be done. We ask for wisdom and discernment for you as you consider this opportunity, as well as the potential move to ###. We are reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We also want to address your mention of your wife and children. We are reminded of Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it." We encourage you to be actively involved in their lives, to love and support them, and to seek reconciliation if there is any separation or strife.

As you go forth and make decisions, remember the importance of seeking God's will and trusting in His timing. We pray that God would grant you patience, wisdom, and discernment as you navigate these opportunities. We also pray for your family, that God would bring healing, restoration, and unity.

We thank You for the opportunities that You have placed before him, and we ask for Your will to be done in his life.
