Humble Prayer Warrior
I love the rain; it gives me strength (Acts 14:17)! Three years ago, my wife left me. She then stole my children. I have not seen them since I miss them more each day. It is so painful. I should be sleeping right now, but the situation is on my mind. So, the only thing I know to do is to request prayers. So, here I am. I know there is power in prayer (James 5:16)! I know God has the power to move mountains. I know God spoke the world into existence. I know all these things… in August 2024, God answered my prayer about moving me back to Alaska. When I heard of the job that would take me to Alaska, I was confident reconciliation was right around the corner. I was so wrong. God took me to Alaska. In the last year, I have had almost every up-and-down you could imagine. The teaching job that I moved here for, I lost on November 20, 2024, due to no fault of my own. I lost two more jobs after that. Mind you, those are high paying jobs. I’ve been homeless. I lived in the shelter for 4.5 months. I lived in my van for 28 nights. I am now living in the basement of a $1 million house. The basement is rustic with clutter everywhere. It smells awful down here. On December 29, 2024, I almost died on the mountain top. I had gone there to worship God and take the Lord's supper and I got locked out of my vehicle in -23°F weather. God spared me that day. Two ladies at the bottom of the hill were present and willing to help me. I am so exhausted. The pain is so extreme. There are times I feel completely hopeless. When I feel hopeless, something happens it seems that stirs my spirit (eg: rain, moose, etc.). It’s so weird. God knows all of the rain. He sends it often. God knows that I love moose. Four times I have prayed that God would let me see moose if he is working in my life and four times I saw moose within a day or so. It may seem silly, but not to me. Some of you have been praying for me for sometime and I am truly grateful. Thank you for praying for me. I am confident one day. God will work in some way. Soon, I will be asked to leave the basement… I fear going to the shelter again. It’s just not a good place for me to be. I’ve tried so hard to get a job but I’ve been unemployed since June 16, thank God, I’ve been doing DoorDash to keep my head above water. Please pray: I will be strong … God will lift me up God will reconcile my family God will reconcile my marriage God will give me a great job God will give me a great place to live Yes, I believe in Jesus with all my heart. I became a Christian many years ago (Acts 2:36-41). May God bless you all as you endeavor to seek him in your own lives.

We come before the throne of grace with you, our brother, lifting your pain and struggles to the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Your heartache over the loss of your wife and children is deep, and the trials you’ve endured—homelessness, job loss, near-death, and the weight of loneliness—are overwhelming. Yet, even in this, we see the fingerprints of God’s faithfulness in the rain you love, the moose He sends as reminders of His presence, and the strangers He used to save your life on that mountain. These are not coincidences; they are the tender mercies of a Father who sees you and has not forgotten you.

You cling to the truth of Scripture, and we stand with you on that foundation. *"The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB), and we declare that your prayers are heard. The God who spoke the world into being is the same God who parts seas, shuts lions’ mouths, and restores what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). He is not done writing your story. The enemy has sought to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Christ has come to give you life abundantly—even in Alaska, even in a basement, even in the waiting.

Yet we must also speak truth in love: reconciliation with your wife and children must be pursued with wisdom, prayer, and a heart fully surrendered to God’s will. If she has hardened her heart or walked away from the Lord, only He can soften it. *"A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps"* (Proverbs 16:9, WEB). We pray for her salvation and repentance if she is not walking with Christ, for *"how can two walk together, unless they agree?"* (Amos 3:3, WEB). We pray for your children’s hearts to be guarded and drawn to their heavenly Father, that they may know His love even in this separation. And we pray for you—to forgive as Christ forgave you (Ephesians 4:32), to release bitterness, and to trust God’s timing, even when it feels delayed.

Your current living situation is temporary, and we rebuke the spirit of fear over your future. The God who provided manna in the wilderness and ravens to feed Elijah (1 Kings 17:4-6) will provide for you. We declare that the right job—one that honors your dignity and meets your needs—is coming. We declare that a safe, stable home is on the horizon, for *"your Father knows what things you need before you ask him"* (Matthew 6:8, WEB). The shelter is not your destiny; it was a season, and this basement is just a stepping stone.

Brother, you are not hopeless. The rain you love is a sign of God’s covenant (Genesis 9:13), a reminder that He keeps His promises. The moose He sends are His way of saying, *"I see you. I am near."* Cling to Him, not to the outcome. Even if reconciliation with your wife never comes, God is your ever-present help (Psalm 46:1). Even if the job and home take longer than you desire, He is your provider (Philippians 4:19). Your identity is not in your circumstances but in Christ: *"You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession"* (1 Peter 2:9, WEB).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we lift our brother to You, the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Lord Jesus, You see his tears, his sleepless nights, and the ache in his soul for his wife and children. We ask for supernatural reconciliation—if it is Your will—to restore this marriage and family in a way that glorifies You. Softens hearts, Lord. Break chains of bitterness, unforgiveness, or rebellion. Bring repentance where it is needed and unity in Your Spirit.

Father, we pray for his children—that they would be protected, comforted, and drawn to You. Let them know their father’s love and Your love, even in this separation. Guard their minds and hearts from the enemy’s lies.

Lord, we ask for divine provision. Open doors for a job that not only sustains him but allows him to thrive. Provide a home that is safe, peaceful, and a refuge. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10)—meet his every need according to Your riches in glory.

Strengthen him, Lord. When he feels weak, remind him that Your grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9). When he feels forgotten, whisper to his spirit through the rain, the moose, and Your Word that he is *never* alone. You are with him in the basement, in the van, on the mountain—wherever he goes.

We rebuke the spirits of despair, fear, and hopelessness in Jesus’ name. Fill him instead with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let him sleep restfully, knowing You are working even while he rests.

Father, we thank You that You are a God of redemption. What the enemy meant for harm, You will turn for good (Genesis 50:20). Restore to him the years the locusts have eaten. Bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, who sits at Your right hand interceding for us. Amen.

Stand firm, brother. Keep praying. Keep trusting. The God who saved you on that mountain is the same God who will carry you through this valley. He is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24). The rain will come again. The moose will appear. And one day soon, you will look back and see how He was working all along. *"Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord"* (1 Corinthians 15:58, WEB). We are with you in this fight. Keep believing.

Dear friend, we're right there with you, standing in the rain that you love so much. We see the strength it gives you, the resilience it nurtures. We know that God is speaking to you through it, reminding you of His covenant, His faithfulness.

We've been praying with you, lifting your heavy heart to the Lord. We're asking Him to soften hearts, to bring reconciliation if it's His will. We're asking for provision, for a job that honors you and a home that's safe and stable. We're asking for strength, for peace, for rest. We're thanking Him for His redemptive power, for the beauty He's going to bring from these ashes.

But we also want to remind you of something you said: "I know there is power in prayer (James 5:16). I know God has the power to move mountains (Matthew 17:20). I know God spoke the world into existence (Genesis 1:3). I know all these things in August 2024, God answered my prayer about moving me back to Alaska."

Friend, we believe that. We believe that God is moving, that He's answering your prayers. We believe that the rain, the moose, the strangers who helped you on the mountain - they're all signs of His presence, His care. We believe that God is working, even when it's hard to see.

So, let's keep praying. Let's keep trusting. Let's keep believing that God is faithful, that He's got this. Because He does. He's got you. And He's not done with your story yet.

Keep your eyes on Him, friend. Keep walking in His love. And remember, you're not alone. We're with you. We're praying with you. And together, we're believing for the breakthrough.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
