Humble Prayer Warrior
There is power in prayer (James 5:16)!

Background:

In 2022, my job in Alaska was complete. I had been offered a teaching position in Texas. So, I took my sons and moved to Texas to set up our new home. My wife and daughter were headed overseas to visit family.

My wife and a Christian flew to Texas and took my sons unbeknownst to me while I was teaching school. It was one of the most painful days of my life. I have not seen my children since.

For a long time, I pleaded with God to take me back to Alaska. I begged God for reconciliation. Finally, in August 2024, I flew to Alaska courtesy of the company I had been working for in California. I was certain God was doing something.

It has now been one year. The last year has been so tough. I lost 3 really good paying jobs. I lived in the shelter 4.5 months. I lived in my van for 28 nights. Almost died on December 29, 2024, when I was locked out of my van in -23°F weather.

I pray, fervently dozens of times per day (Luke 18:1). I read the psalms every month and have read the psalms 30+ times since October 2023. They have become my necessary food.

I have now been unemployed since June 16. I have lost some really good jobs due to no fault of my own. It’s painful to have a really good paying job and then lose it. Money is so important in our society and without money life can get very difficult quickly.

Thankfully, God has given me DoorDash. It has saved me. It has lifted my head above waters (Ps 130:1). I am so thankful to God for it.

In addition to DoorDash, I also do Instacart and GrubHub.

Yesterday, a blessing which was huge to me, entered into my life. It may seem insignificant to others, but to me it was huge. From time to time, it seems like God steps in.

I could not access the bases despite being a veteran. However, a GrubHub order called me to go to the visitor center. And ask for access. Because I am a veteran, they gave me a year access. So, the problem I was having was no longer there. I prayed and thanked God five or 10 times over the next two hours.

Yesterday, Labor Day, I made nearly $300. I don’t say that to brag… I say that as credit to God. Also, someone reading this post may be in a situation that that information may encourage them as they go through their struggle.

I am still in a lot of pain! I wish God would simply take all my pain away. If he’s not going to take it away, I wish you would push the brain and cause me to forget everything about everything.

Trust me—I’m not suicidal, but I have plenty with God to take my life. I have never done that my entire life.. I’ve been through some really bad stuff. But the pain that I’ve endured over the last couple years has been so difficult I actually prayed on that God would exchange my life for a child that had recently passed away.

Again, the psalms have been like a B12 shot to my body. I read the psalms each month and last month. I read the psalms twice. I have already begun for this month.

My youngest son’s birthday is this month unless God intervenes with a sudden revelation, I will miss his birthday again. I am the kind of dad that goes overboard to make birthdays very very special..

God, I played with you, please restore my marriage and my family.

I have asked God… God, if you are not going to restore my marriage, my family would you please take me so far away from Alaska so that I can start over with a good job elsewhere?

So far, God has not moved me away. It makes me think God wants me to stay right here. Trust me, I have sent resumes all around this country in various places that may be people would not want (Maine, New Hampshire, etc). I have applied for jobs that probably a lot of people wouldn’t want to have.

Yes, I believe in Jesus Christ.

Last night, on my way home from doing gig work, I had an incredible prayer. I love the prayers where I feel like God is sitting in the seat next to me, and he and I are talking about my life.

I was so confident, 1000%, that God had given access to me to the base. Again, it may seem trivial to most people reading this, but to me it was like discovering gold underneath the car seat. It took away some problems that I was having with doing gig work.

In my mind, I have imagined my wife come back to me.

I have thought of all the scenarios of what I would do and what I would say… I think I would cry for the first 30 minutes as I saw my wife and my children for the first time in over three years.

God, I love you with all my heart… I trust that over the last year you have tried to make me into a better person through the various ups and downs of my existence. I have to trust you.

Please continue to pray for the following dear friends & prayer warriors:

Marital reconciliation
Soon, God, please soon.

Family back together as one.

A new career. A new job.

A new place to live.

I didn’t mention it above, but since I’ve been back in Alaska, I have lived in the following way:

4.5 months in a shelter
5.25 months in a nice apartment
28 nights in the back of my van
Two months in a basement (apt above)

At any moment, the owner of this home could ask me to leave the basement and I would be homeless or back in my van. With winter quickly approaching, I cannot live in my van in -45°F weather. I would die quickly.

I am exhausted.

It is 2:43 AM and I am up typing this when I should be sleeping. I just cannot sleep. I saw eight hours which of my body needs I know.

Thank you for praying for me!

We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, trusting in His sovereignty and goodness even in the midst of such profound suffering. Your story is one of heartbreak, perseverance, and a desperate longing for restoration—both in your family and in your circumstances. We commend you for your commitment to prayer, your reliance on Scripture, and your faith in Jesus Christ, even when the path has been unbearably difficult. Let us address your situation with truth, hope, and prayer, grounded in the Word of God.

First, we must acknowledge the pain of your broken marriage and the separation from your children. The Bible makes it clear that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and that marriage is a covenant meant to reflect Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Your cry for reconciliation is one that aligns with God’s heart. However, reconciliation requires repentance, forgiveness, and the willingness of both parties to submit to God’s design for marriage. We do not know the state of your wife’s heart, but we know that God is able to soften even the hardest of hearts. Your role is to continue seeking Him, repenting of any sin in your own life, and trusting Him to work in ways you cannot see.

You mentioned that your wife took your children without your knowledge, and we grieve with you over this betrayal. Yet, we must also urge you to examine your own heart before the Lord. Have there been ways you failed to lead your family spiritually or emotionally? Have there been sins of commission or omission that may have contributed to the brokenness? This is not to place blame but to encourage humility and repentance, for we all fall short (Romans 3:23). The Lord calls us to confess our sins and turn from them (1 John 1:9), and He is faithful to restore what has been broken when we seek Him wholeheartedly.

Your suffering has been immense—job loss, homelessness, near-death experiences, and the emotional toll of separation from your family. Yet, even in this, we see God’s provision through gig work and small blessings like access to the base. These are not coincidences but evidence that He has not abandoned you. Jesus Himself said, *"In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."* (John 16:33). Your pain is real, but it is not without purpose. The Lord is refining you, teaching you to depend on Him alone, and preparing you for what lies ahead.

We notice that you have asked God to take your life or to make you forget your pain. While we understand the depth of your despair, we must gently but firmly rebuke this line of thinking. Your life is not your own; it belongs to Christ, who purchased you with His blood (1 Corinthians 6:20). Suffering is not an excuse to wish for death, for even in suffering, God is at work (Romans 8:28). The apostle Paul himself pleaded with the Lord to remove his "thorn in the flesh," but God’s response was, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."* (2 Corinthians 12:9). Your weakness is an opportunity for God’s strength to be displayed. Do not despise this season, for it is producing in you a faith that is more precious than gold (1 Peter 1:7).

You also mentioned imagining your wife returning to you. While it is natural to long for reconciliation, we caution you against dwelling in fantasy. Instead, fix your mind on what is true, honorable, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Pray for your wife’s heart to be turned toward the Lord, for your children to be protected and drawn to Christ, and for God to prepare you to be the husband and father He has called you to be—whether reconciliation comes or not. If reconciliation does not happen, you must still trust God’s plan, for He is good even when His ways are painful (Psalm 119:68).

Regarding your employment and housing struggles, we encourage you to keep seeking the Lord’s provision while also taking practical steps. Proverbs 16:3 says, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* Continue applying for jobs, networking, and using the resources available to you. God often works through our diligence. At the same time, ask Him for wisdom (James 1:5) and for doors to open that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Your current gig work is a testament to His provision, but we pray He leads you to stable, long-term employment that meets your needs and allows you to bless others.

Your living situation is precarious, especially with winter approaching. We urge you to seek help from your local church or Christian ministries that assist with housing. The body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there is no shame in asking for help. If you are not already connected to a biblical church, we strongly encourage you to find one where you can be discipled, encouraged, and supported.

Finally, we must address your sleeplessness and exhaustion. The Lord knows your frame and remembers that you are dust (Psalm 103:14). He invites you to cast your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We suggest setting aside time to rest, even if sleep does not come easily. Play worship music, meditate on Scripture, and ask the Holy Spirit to quiet your mind. Psalm 4:8 says, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."*

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, who is weary, broken, and longing for restoration. Lord, You see his tears, You hear his cries, and You know the depths of his pain. We ask You to draw near to him, for You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Comfort him with Your presence and remind him that You are his refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

Father, we lift up his marriage and his family. If it is Your will, we pray for reconciliation—soften his wife’s heart, Lord, and turn her toward You. Bring repentance, healing, and restoration to this broken marriage. If reconciliation is not Your plan, give him the grace to surrender his desires to You and trust in Your goodness. Protect his children, Lord, and let them know Your love in the midst of this separation. Draw them to Yourself, and let them see Christ in their father.

We pray for provision—open doors for stable employment, Father. Provide a safe and permanent place for him to live, especially as winter approaches. Give him wisdom in his job search and favor with potential employers. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and You are able to meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

Lord, we ask You to sustain him physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When he is exhausted, be his strength. When he is discouraged, be his hope. When he feels forgotten, remind him that You have engraved him on the palms of Your hands (Isaiah 49:16). Help him to sleep, Father, and renew his body and mind.

We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness in the name of Jesus. Satan would love to see our brother give up, but we declare that You, Lord, are his victory. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and let him experience the joy of Your presence even in this valley.

Finally, Father, we thank You for his faith. He has clung to You in the storm, and we pray You reward his perseverance. Let this season of suffering produce in him a faith that cannot be shaken and a testimony that glorifies Your name. Use his story to encourage others who are walking through similar trials.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who intercedes for us at Your right hand. Amen.

Brother, we want to leave you with this encouragement: *"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we don’t give up."* (Galatians 6:9). Keep praying, keep seeking, and keep trusting. God has not forgotten you. He is working, even when you cannot see it. Cling to Him, for He is your portion (Lamentations 3:24). We are standing with you in prayer, believing that the Lord will restore, provide, and sustain you according to His perfect will. Stay in the Word, stay in prayer, and stay in faith. The Lord is near.

Dear friend, we hear your heart's deep longing for restoration and the pain you've been enduring. We want to encourage you with these words from Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God sees your pain, and He is near to you.

We understand that you've been through immense suffering, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. But remember, even in the darkest night, the stars still shine. You've mentioned small blessings like access to the base and DoorDash. These are not coincidences; they are evidence of God's care for you. He hasn't abandoned you. Keep trusting in Him, even when the path is uncertain.

We want to remind you of God's unfailing love for you. Jeremiah 31:3 says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have been faithful to you, even when you were not faithful to me." This love is steadfast and unchanging. It's there for you, even in the midst of your pain.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face. In Psalm 34:18, it says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He is near to you, and He wants to heal you and restore your brokenness.

Please continue to pray, and let us know how we can support you further. We are standing with you in prayer, believing that the Lord will restore, provide, and sustain you according to His perfect will. Stay in the Word, stay in prayer, and stay in faith. The Lord is near.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred privilege of lifting your heart before the Father during this season of deep trial and longing. Your story has weighed heavily on our hearts, and we continue to stand with you in prayer, believing that God is working even when we cannot yet see the full picture of His plan.

We rejoice with you over the small but mighty blessings God has woven into your days—the provision of DoorDash and gig work, the unexpected access to the base, and those moments when you feel His presence so tangibly beside you in prayer. These are not coincidences but tender mercies from a Father who sees you. We praise Him that even in the wilderness, He has not left you without manna—daily bread to sustain you, whether through income, shelter, or the living water of His Word in the Psalms. Thirty times through the Psalms is a testament to your hunger for Him, and we trust He is feeding your soul in ways unseen.

Yet we also ache with you over the unanswered cries of your heart—the agony of separation from your children, the exhaustion of instability, the weight of unfulfilled longing for reconciliation and restoration. We hear how the pain has settled into your bones, how the nights are long, and how the question *"How long, O Lord?"* echoes in your spirit. We want you to know we are still here, still interceding, still contending for your marriage, your family, your provision, and your peace. We are asking God to move in ways that are unmistakably *Him*—whether through sudden reconciliation, a door to stable housing, a job that feels like a calling rather than a stopgap, or a supernatural peace that guards your heart even as you wait.

Brother, we want to gently remind you that your worth is not tied to your circumstances. You are not defined by homelessness, job loss, or the silence you’ve endured. You are a child of God, a veteran, a father who loves fiercely, and a man who—despite everything—still prays with raw honesty and trust. That is *extraordinary*. We pray that God would meet you in the quiet hours of the night when sleep evades you, that He would speak to you in ways that leave no room for doubt: *You are seen. You are loved. I am working.*

If there has been even the smallest shift in your situation—a glimmer of hope, an answered prayer, a moment of unexpected joy—we would be so encouraged to hear it. And if the burden still feels heavy, we invite you to share that too. We are not here to offer empty platitudes but to walk with you, to weep with you when needed, and to keep pointing you to Jesus, who carries your sorrow and your requests before the Father.

We are also praying specifically for:
- **Your youngest son’s birthday this month**—that God would meet you both in profound ways, even if you’re apart. We ask Him to give you a creative way to mark the day, to let your son feel your love, and to comfort your heart in the missing.
- **Stable, warm housing before winter**—that God would provide a safe place, whether through an open door you haven’t yet seen or a miraculous intervention.
- **A job that feels like *more* than survival**—one that uses your skills, honors your dignity, and reminds you of God’s faithfulness.
- **Your wife’s heart**—that God would soften, pursue, and speak to her in ways only He can. We pray for dreams, convictions, or divine appointments that draw her back to Him—and to you.
- **Supernatural peace for your mind**—especially in the early hours when the pain feels loudest. We ask God to replace sleeplessness with His presence, to quiet the "what ifs" with His *"I am."*

We leave you with this promise from Psalm 138:8: *"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands."* You are the work of His hands, and He is not done.

Please update us when you’re able. We are here, we are praying, and we are believing with you for God’s redemption in every area of your life.

In Jesus’ name.
