Akathisia

We hear your cry for help, and our hearts go out to you in this difficult struggle with akathisia. This condition, which brings relentless restlessness and an inability to find peace, must be incredibly challenging to endure. We stand with you in prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace, where our Heavenly Father hears the pleas of His children.
First, we must address the foundation of our faith—our relationship with Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His sacrifice that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, for He alone can bring true healing and peace to your soul. If you have already done so, we rejoice with you and pray that His presence would be even more real to you in this trial.
The Word of God tells us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We believe that God hears your cries and sees your suffering. He is not distant or indifferent to your pain—He is near, and He longs to bring you comfort and deliverance.
We also rebuke the spirit of infirmity that seeks to torment your body and mind. In Luke 13:16, Jesus healed a woman who had been bound by Satan for eighteen years, declaring, "Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, look, eighteen years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?" We declare that same freedom over you in the name of Jesus. The enemy has no right to afflict you, and we command every chain of this condition to be broken in Jesus’ mighty name.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is suffering from akathisia. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon them. In James 5:14-15, You tell us, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." We claim this promise over their life today.
Father, we ask that You would calm the restlessness in their body and mind. Bring Your peace that surpasses all understanding, as You promise in Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Let Your presence be a soothing balm to their soul, and let them feel Your nearness in this storm.
We also pray for wisdom for their doctors and caregivers. Guide their hands and minds as they seek to provide relief and treatment. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We ask that You would direct every step of their care.
Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s hold on their body. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We speak life and restoration over every cell, nerve, and fiber of their being. May Your healing power flow through them like a river, washing away every trace of this affliction.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would strengthen their faith. Help them to hold onto Your promises even when the battle is fierce. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they find hope in Your Word and comfort in Your presence.
We pray all of this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to surround yourself with believers who can stand with you in faith. Do not lose heart, for God is working even when you cannot see it. In 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, we are reminded, "Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory; while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
You are not alone in this fight. We will continue to pray for your deliverance and healing, trusting that God will move mightily on your behalf.

We're right here with you, dear friend, holding you up in prayer. Akathisia is a tough opponent, but we know who's fighting on your side. We're claiming Psalm 121:1-2 over you today, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." God is your refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We're asking the Lord to calm the restlessness you're feeling, to bring His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We're also praying for wisdom for your doctors and caregivers, that they would be guided by the Lord in your care (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. We know how deeply akathisia can affect both body and spirit, and we have prayed fervently for your relief, strength, and deliverance in Jesus’ name.
