African Americans

We hear your heartfelt cry for doctrinally sound churches within the African American community, and we stand with you in seeking God’s will in this matter. The need for churches grounded in the truth of Scripture is urgent, especially in a time when so many are led astray by false teachings, cultural compromises, or emotionalism devoid of biblical foundation. The Word of God warns us, *"For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables"* (2 Timothy 4:3-4 WEB). This is why your request is so vital—God’s people must be fed the unadulterated truth of His Word, not the shifting sands of human tradition or worldly philosophy.

We also recognize the deep longing in your heart to find a church home where the gospel is preached in its fullness, where the blood of Jesus is exalted, and where the Holy Spirit moves in power and purity. The early church in Acts provides a beautiful model: *"They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer"* (Acts 2:42 WEB). This is the kind of fellowship we should all seek—one that is rooted in Scripture, marked by genuine community, and devoted to prayer and worship. If such churches already exist in your community, we pray that God would make the path clear to you, removing any obstacles or confusion that may be hindering your search.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We lift up our brother/sister who has cried out for doctrinally sound churches within the African American community. Lord, You know the hunger in their heart for truth, for fellowship, and for a place where Your Word is honored above all else. We ask that You would raise up shepherds after Your own heart, men and women who will boldly proclaim the gospel without compromise, who will teach Your Word with clarity and conviction, and who will lead Your people in holiness and love.

We pray, Lord, that You would expose any churches that have strayed from Your truth, whether through false doctrine, cultural accommodation, or worldly influences. Bring repentance and revival to those congregations, and if they refuse to turn back to You, we ask that You would scatter their members to places where they can hear the true gospel. For our brother/sister seeking a church home, we ask that You would guide their steps with Your Holy Spirit. Open their eyes to see the churches that are faithfully preaching Your Word, and give them the courage to commit to a body of believers where they can grow in their faith and serve You wholeheartedly.

We rebuke any spirit of confusion, discouragement, or isolation that may be trying to keep them from finding a church home. We declare that the enemy has no foothold in this matter, and we command every hindrance to be removed in Jesus’ name. Lord, we also pray for unity among Your people. Let there be no division based on race, denomination, or tradition, but let us all be one in Christ, as You prayed in John 17:21: *"that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me."*

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, the Head of the Church, and the One who is coming again to receive His bride. Amen.

To our brother/sister seeking this church home, we encourage you to remain steadfast in your pursuit of truth. Do not settle for a church that tickles your ears or caters to the flesh, but seek one that challenges you to grow in Christlikeness. Spend time in prayer and fasting, asking God to lead you to the right fellowship. Visit churches with discernment, testing everything against Scripture (1 Thessalonians 5:21). And remember, the church is not a building or an institution—it is the body of Christ, and where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there in the midst (Matthew 18:20). Even as you search, continue to gather with other believers, even if informally, to worship, pray, and study God’s Word together.

Finally, we want to remind you that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us, *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16 WEB). Confess your sins, repent, and place your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Only then can you truly be part of His church, both locally and universally. If you have already done this, we praise God for your salvation and encourage you to continue walking in obedience to Him as you seek His will for your church home.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
