Beloved of All
Your longing for justice and for what is right to be honored is something God understands completely. Scripture says to keep judgment and do justice, and it calls blessed the person who lives this way, who chooses what is fair and honest rather than cheating or taking advantage of another. God desires that we live honestly before Him and before others, doing the right thing because His salvation is near and His righteousness will be revealed.
At the same time the Bible is very honest about how justice often fails in human hands. The prophet describes a time when judgment was far off and justice stood afar off, when truth had fallen in the street and fairness could not enter, when no one was truly pleading for truth but trusting in emptiness and speaking lies. That description fits what many experience in courts and legal processes today. Even those who work within the system will admit that you cannot always be assured of a just outcome, because judges are not all knowing, witnesses can lie even under oath, and truth can be hard to discern. When justice is perverted, the very foundations of society are shaken, and God grieves over it because He is a God of righteousness and justice who wants justice to prevail.
God has not left us without hope in the face of this. He sees when there is no one to intercede, and He Himself has provided an intercessor. On the cross, mercy and truth met together and righteousness and peace kissed. Justice was not set aside, it was satisfied, because Jesus bore the penalty for sin so that guilty people could be forgiven and still have God remain perfectly just. Because of that, you can have peace with God even while you wait for earthly matters to be resolved, and you can trust Him as the final Judge who will one day judge uprightly with perfect knowledge and perfect righteousness. What human courts may miss, He sees fully.
He is also a God of restoration. After seasons of loss and brokenness, He promises to restore and to bring back what has been damaged, not only in outward circumstances but in the heart. That restoration begins with being made right with Him through Jesus Christ.
I will pray with you that in your housing matter the truth will be made clear and that lies and injustice will be exposed. I pray that any advocate or barrister who represents you will act with integrity and skill, and that the decision makers will seek what is fair. I pray that the Lord will provide for your needs, guard you from evil intent, and help you to leave vengeance in His hands while you continue to walk honestly before Him. Above all I pray that you will know His vindication not only in a settlement but in the deeper assurance that He sees you, He cares about justice, and He will in the end make all things right. May the Lord grant you wisdom, peace, and trust in Him as you wait for His righteous hand to work.
