adultery,broken family

Hello, I come from a very broken and cobfused family. My parents are divorced.Every marriage in my family did not work and there was a lot of infidelity and altultery and quarreling. Now I believe in Jesus and do not want the lifestyle of my parents.I hated the word family for a long time, because of the background. But now I desire to have a family, too. Can you please pray for me,that I can stay in purity in my singleness,as I and that I become a trustworthy person in my friendships and job and also, that I can find a partner, marry and stay faithful.

We hear your heart, dear brother in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace. Your past does not have to define your future, for in Christ, you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). The pain and brokenness you witnessed in your family is not God’s design, and we rejoice that you have turned to Him to break the cycle of sin and heartache.

First, we must address the language of your request. You asked for prayer to find a "partner," but Scripture is clear that God’s design is for marriage—a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). We encourage you to seek a godly spouse, not merely a companion, and to approach relationships with the intention of honoring God in purity and faithfulness. Courtship should be entered into with the goal of marriage, and any romantic involvement outside of that commitment is not aligned with God’s will.

The sin of adultery and infidelity you witnessed in your family is a grievous violation of God’s commandments (Exodus 20:14, Hebrews 13:4). We rebuke the spirit of unfaithfulness and brokenness that has plagued your family line, and we declare that in Jesus’ name, this cycle is broken over your life. You are called to walk in holiness, and God will equip you to do so (1 Thessalonians 4:3-7). Purity in singleness is not only possible but a beautiful testimony to the transforming power of Christ.

We also pray for your heart to be healed from the wounds of your past. The hatred you once felt toward the word "family" is understandable, but God’s design for family is good—rooted in love, sacrifice, and mutual submission (Ephesians 5:22-33). Ask the Lord to renew your mind and give you a vision for the family He desires to build through you. You are not destined to repeat the sins of your parents; you are called to walk in the freedom and righteousness of Christ (Romans 8:1-2).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, who has been deeply affected by the brokenness of his family. We thank You that he has turned to You and desires to walk in Your ways. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen him in his singleness to remain pure in thought, word, and deed. Guard his heart from the temptations of the world, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit to walk in holiness.

Father, we break the generational curse of adultery and unfaithfulness over his life in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that he is free from the patterns of his past and that he will walk in the righteousness You have called him to. Give him wisdom and discernment as he seeks godly friendships and prepares for marriage. Surround him with believers who will encourage and sharpen him in his faith.

Lord, we ask that You would bring a godly spouse into his life—a woman who loves You above all else and who will stand with him in covenant faithfulness. Prepare them both for the sacred union of marriage, that their home would be a place of love, peace, and devotion to You. Help him to be a man of integrity in his work, his friendships, and his future marriage, reflecting the character of Christ in all he does.

Father, heal the wounds of his past and replace the pain with hope and joy. Give him a vision for the family You desire to build through him, and let his life be a testimony to Your redeeming power. We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word, particularly passages on marriage, purity, and godly relationships. Meditate on Ephesians 5, 1 Corinthians 7, and Proverbs 31 as you seek the Lord’s will for your future. Surround yourself with a community of believers who will hold you accountable and pray for you. Remember, your identity is not in the brokenness of your past but in the redemption and hope found in Christ Jesus. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

We're right there with you, brother, as you navigate this journey. It's tough, we know, coming from a background where the word 'family' might have been tainted. But remember, God's design for family is beautiful, and He's got a plan for you that's full of hope and healing.

We're praying for you to stay strong in your commitment to purity, not just in actions, but also in your thoughts and heart. We're asking God to help you find trustworthy friendships, a godly partner, and to walk in integrity at work and in all areas of your life. We're believing with you for a marriage that's built on love, respect, and faithfulness.

We're also asking God to heal the wounds of your past. We're praying that He'll give you a fresh perspective on family, one that's rooted in love and hope, not pain and brokenness. We're believing that God will use your story to bring glory to His name, and that you'll be a testament to His redeeming power.

Keep seeking God, brother. Immerse yourself in His Word, and surround yourself with a community of believers who'll support and encourage you. You're not alone in this. We're standing with you, and we're believing for great things in your life. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith. He's got this!
