Adulterous relationship

Dhitlor

Humble Servant
Please pray for the removal of the negative impact on my life of a sinful and adulterous relationship that I was involved in years ago. This was a terrible thing that I did and I am genuinely so sorry for anyone I hurt and the sin I committed by being involved in this. Please pray that all hurt would be healed and led to faith in Christ. Please also pray that the person I was involved with would be removed from my life as this person was highly abusive and continues to try to ruin my life and stalk me to this day.

We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting you up in this time of deep repentance and need for healing. Your acknowledgment of sin and genuine sorrow is a testament to the Holy Spirit’s work in your life, for it is written, *"Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death"* (2 Corinthians 7:10, WEB). We rejoice that you have turned away from this sin and seek God’s mercy, for He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

The sin of adultery is a grievous offense against God and those involved, as Scripture warns, *"Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB). Yet, the blood of Jesus is powerful to wash away even this sin, and His grace is sufficient to restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). We pray that you would cling to this truth and walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for you, for *"if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB).

We also lift up the person you were involved with, praying that the Lord would break every chain of bitterness, abuse, and obsession in their life. Their actions are not only harmful to you but are a rebellion against God’s design for love and relationships. Scripture commands us to *"love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44, WEB). While this is a difficult calling, we trust that God will give you the strength to forgive—not to excuse their sin, but to release the burden of resentment and trust God to execute justice in His time. *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord'"*(Romans 12:19, WEB).

For your protection, we pray that the Lord would place a hedge of thorns around you, as He did for Job (Job 1:10), to prevent this person from continuing to harm or stalk you. We ask that God would expose their deeds and bring conviction upon their heart, leading them to repentance. If they refuse to turn from their ways, we pray that the Lord would restrain their ability to cause further damage, for *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me"* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB).

We also pray for the healing of all those who were hurt by this sin—spouses, families, and anyone else affected. May the Lord draw them to Himself, comforting them as only He can. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). We ask that He would turn their pain into a testimony of His redemption, that they too might find faith in Christ and experience His restoring love.

Finally, we encourage you to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, for the enemy seeks to use past sins to condemn and torment you. But *"there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus"* (Romans 8:1, WEB). Stand firm in this truth, and when memories or guilt arise, declare the victory of the cross over your life. Surround yourself with godly community, and if you have not already, we urge you to confess this sin to a trusted pastor or believer who can pray with you and hold you accountable in your walk with Christ. *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB).

**Our Prayer:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who stands before You with a repentant heart. Lord, You see the depths of their sorrow and the sincerity of their desire to walk in Your ways. We ask that You would wash them clean by the blood of the Lamb, removing every stain of this sin and restoring them to a place of purity and wholeness in You. Father, where the enemy has sought to bring shame and condemnation, let Your voice ring louder, declaring, *"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins"* (Isaiah 43:25, WEB).

Lord, we pray for supernatural protection over their life. Place a divine barrier between them and the person who continues to harass and stalk them. Frustrate every plan of the enemy to bring harm or distress, and let this person be confronted by Your truth. Soften their heart, Lord, that they may see the error of their ways and turn to You in repentance. If they refuse, we ask that You would bind their influence and render their efforts powerless. Let Your justice prevail, and let Your peace guard our brother’s/sister’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We pray for healing for all who were wounded by this sin. Comfort those who were betrayed, Lord, and draw them into Your arms. Let this situation be redeemed for Your glory, that lives would be transformed and faith would arise where there was once only pain. Use this testimony to show the world that no sin is beyond Your forgiveness and no life is beyond Your restoration.

Strengthen our brother/sister to walk in victory, Lord. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may resist the enemy’s lies and stand firm in Your truth. Surround them with godly counsel and community, that they may be encouraged and built up in their faith. Let them know, beyond any doubt, that they are forgiven, loved, and called to a future of hope in You.

We rebuked every spirit of guilt, shame, and fear that would seek to linger over this situation. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to flee, for *"greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). Fill our brother/sister with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and let them walk in the freedom You have purchased for them.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, standing in the gap with you. We know the weight of carrying past mistakes, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We're praying for you, for healing, for freedom, and for the removal of the person who continues to cause harm.

We believe in the power of God's forgiveness, and we know that Jesus can wash away even the deepest stains of sin. We're claiming that verse for you, "though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool" (Isaiah 1:18, NIV). We're asking God to fill you with His love and grace, to heal your heart, and to restore your joy.

We're also praying for protection. We're asking God to place a hedge of protection around you, to frustrate the plans of the enemy, and to expose the truth to the person who has been causing harm. We're trusting that God will bring justice in His time.

We're here to encourage you too. We want you to know that God sees you, He loves you, and He's working in your life. We're believing with you for a future filled with hope and freedom in Christ.

Keep holding on, friend. We're praying for you.
