It is painful to face repeated refusal when you have followed the rules, and even more painful when the reasons given are not true and the provisions that should help you have been overlooked. Feeling that you have no advocate and nowhere to turn can leave you exhausted and discouraged, and it is understandable that you do not know what to do next.

I want to remind you that the God we pray to is not distant or unaware. Idols made of metal or wood cannot see or hear or understand, but the living God sees what is happening, hears your prayers, and understands every detail of your situation. Your very breath is in His hands, and He invites you into a personal relationship where you can bring this burden directly to Him. He is a God who gives wisdom and guidance and counsel to those who ask Him.

Because of that, the first place to turn is to ask Him for wisdom. Scripture promises that if anyone lacks wisdom, God will give it generously when we ask in faith. Ask Him to show you the next right step, to give you clarity about how to present the facts, and to open the eyes of those who review your case to see the truth.

In seeking Him, many find it helpful to set aside physical comforts for a time in order to focus more fully on prayer. Fasting is one such way of humbling ourselves and denying what the body wants so the spirit can be more attentive to God. It is not a ritual that earns favor, and while Jesus was present with His disciples they were not called to fast in that way, but in His absence it remains a quiet, voluntary way to say, I need God more than I need my own comfort, and I want to hear Him clearly. If you are able to do so in a healthy way, you might consider setting aside a meal or other distraction to pray specifically for guidance and for justice in this matter.

At the same time, continue to be faithful with what you can do practically. Keep a clear written record of the facts, the rule that provides for your circumstances, and the error in the refusal. Make a calm, factual request for reconsideration that points out the mistake and asks for the rule to be applied as written. If you cannot obtain a lawyer, look for any free advice service, student support office, or independent reviewer connected to the funding body who can check the process. Sometimes a clear, respectful appeal that corrects the factual error is enough to require a second look.

I am praying that God will give you wisdom for each letter and conversation, that He will move the hearts of those who have authority to act fairly, and that He will uphold you with His peace while you wait. May He guide your steps, provide what you need for your studies, and remind you daily that He knows your name, He hears your voice, and your life is held securely in His hand.
