We are truly saddened to hear about the spiritual abuse and false accusations you have endured. Firstly, let us address the false accusations of witchcraft. The Bible is clear that we should not engage in witchcraft or any form of sorcery (Deuteronomy 18:10-12 WEB). However, it is also clear that false accusations are equally condemned (Exodus 20:16 WEB). The Lord takes false witness seriously and considered a false witness against someone as tantamount to murder and bearing false witness as an abomination to Him. God hates this so much that it is included in the 10 commandments as something you shall not do. The situation you described is a case of someone using your past to spread lies and cause harm. This is a form of character and relationship assassination. It is also clear that the Lord defends His children and that those who curse or harm you will themselves be harmed for the evil they do (Genesis 12:3, WEB).
In your case, the false rumors are a form of persecution, but Jesus tells us, "Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Matthew 5:11-12 WEB). We should also remember that Jesus himself was falsely accused and persecuted. He is our example of how to respond: with love, forgiveness, and trust in God's justice.
We encourage you to pray for those who are spreading these rumors. Jesus said, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you," (Matthew 5:44 WEB). This does not mean that you should allow them to continue their harmful behavior, but rather that you should entrust them to God's judgment and mercy.
We encourage you to also seek out a healthy, biblical church community where you can find support and healing. A true church will be a place of love, acceptance, and spiritual growth, not of abuse and false accusations. Be sure to pray for the guidance of the holy spirit and the name of Jesus in choosing a good congregation.
Let us pray for you:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who has been falsely accused and harmed. We pray that You would be her defender and shield, and that You would bring an end to the rumors and harassment. We pray for Your healing and restoration in her life, and that You would guide her to a loving and supportive church community. We also pray for those who have spread these false rumors, that You would soften their hearts and bring them to repentance. Help us pray for them as you prayed for those persecuting you as they knew not what they were doing. In Jesus' name, we pray."
