Accident

Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you have carried. The pain from the accident, the ongoing injuries, the debt, the pressure of providing alone for your teenager, and the torment at work have come together in a way that would leave anyone feeling worn out and cried out. God sees all of it, even the parts that others have dismissed or hidden.

Your story brings to mind the account of Job. He is described as a man who was upright and who turned away from evil, and yet he suffered greatly. Scripture pulls back the curtain to show something Job and his friends could not see at first. There was a challenge in the heavenly realm, and the adversary had been watching Job closely, studying him and looking for a way to accuse him. The claim was that Job only honored God because God had put a hedge of blessing around him. When that blessing was allowed to be touched, Job lost his possessions, his health, and his comfort, though he had done nothing to deserve it. That background matters because it reminds us that suffering is not always a sign that God is punishing you or that you have failed. Cultures change, but the deep questions Job asked about pain, justice, and why God allows hard things are the same questions you are asking now.

Job's friends came to comfort him, but they became miserable comforters. They insisted he must be a hypocrite or hiding wickedness, and they told him to simply get right with God and everything would be fixed. They used proverbs and accusations that did not fit him. In the same way, it is painful when a boss and coworkers use your accident against you, twist your work, change deadlines with no record, and hold secret meetings. God is fair and just, and He sees what is done in private as well as in public. Even when others leave no paper trail, nothing is hidden from Him. Job held to the truth that God is just even when he could not understand what God was doing, and he did not turn his heart to curse God. He was honest about his confusion and his pain, and God did not reject him for that honesty.

Scripture also shows that God was at work even when it looked as though He had forsaken Job. What happened to Job later became a comfort to others who would walk through long seasons of pain. Your suffering is not unseen or wasted. God is still present and still working, even on the days when His help feels far away.

You quoted the psalm about lifting your eyes to the hills and the verse that we have not because we ask not. It is right to keep asking. God invites you to bring your needs for healing, for daily provision, for a just resolution to the accident, and for work that will allow you to provide and be present for your daughter. At the same time, the answer Job longed for was not only relief, but someone who could stand between him and God, who could lay a hand on both and bring him near. That need is met in Jesus Christ. Through Him alone we have forgiveness of sins and peace with God. You thanked Jesus for not giving up on you and asked for forgiveness, and that is the foundation for every other prayer. Continue to rest in His mercy, not in your own perfection.

I am praying for you in specific ways. For your body, that God would bring healing and relief from the concussion, the disk and ankle injuries, and the constant pain, and guide your doctors with wisdom. For provision, that God would open a door for work that is honest, stable, and free from the torment you have endured, work that fits your need to care for your teenager and uses your gifts well, and that He would provide for your financial needs day by day. For justice, that the truth about the accident would be honored and that any settlement or process would be handled fairly. For your heart and home, that God would give you strength and calm as you raise your daughter alone, and that she would see in you a steady trust in the Lord even in hardship. For your workplace season, ask God for wisdom about how to document what is happening, to seek wise and godly counsel and appropriate help regarding your leave and your employment, and to guard your heart from bitterness while still seeking what is right.

Keep bringing your requests to the Lord, and keep taking practical steps as you are able. Continue caring for your health, keeping records of what happens at work, seeking trusted advice, and applying for work as God gives opportunity. Do not measure God's love only by how quickly a door opens. He has not forgotten you, and He hears the prayers of those who call on Him through Jesus. May He give you today a renewed sense of His nearness, strength for this day's burden, and hope to keep walking forward in His care.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to lift you before the Lord and we remember your heartfelt request. We thank you for your honest and humble heart as you asked for forgiveness and shared how you are trying to live in a way that makes the Lord proud while raising your teen alone and working so hard to keep a roof over your heads and food on the table. We have been praying specifically for the burdens you carried since that car accident when you were rear ended while stopped at a stoplight, and for the ongoing concussion and herniated disk and ankle injury that have left you in constant pain, and for the debt that has followed. We have also been praying for you as you have endured so much torment at work after the accident, being removed from your projects and having your desk cleared and being placed on a performance plan and facing daily torment without a digital footprint, and for the stress that led you to take leave since June. We know how heavy it has been to apply to so many jobs and face rejection while longing for a breakthrough of a new remote job with a higher salary in a non toxic environment and for a fair and higher than expected settlement and for strength to continue to be the great mother you have been to your daughter whom you have raised alone since birth.

We continue to ask the Lord to be your healer and provider and defender, to touch your body and bring relief from pain as He promises in Psalm 147:3 and Jer 30:17, to open doors for employment that no man can shut and to provide for all your needs according to His riches in glory in Phil 4:19, and to bring justice and peace where there has been deception and workplace oppression. We are reminded of your own words that your help comes from the Lord as it is written in Psalm 121:2, and that we have not because we ask not as it is written in James 4:2, and we join you in asking boldly for that alignment and shift you are seeking.

If your request has been answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We count it a privilege to stand with you as a single mother who is doing her best to make it and to make the Lord proud.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord will draw near to you, sustain you and your teen, and show you His favor and breakthrough. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

I had a car accident to day. Fender Bender and no one was hurt. I was driving in an unfamiliar area of a large city and got confused on a 1-way that looked like a two-way street. Pray that God would intervein with the insurance agency so they don't raise my rates more than 15-20%. Thank you.
