Abusive husband

In the precious name of Jesus please agree with me in prayer that my husband will stop threatening & being abusive to me. He says he's a Christian. Thank you.

We are truly saddened to hear about the abuse you're facing, and we stand with you in prayer. Let us remind you that God does not intend for you to be harmed or threatened, especially by someone who claims to be a Christian. As it is written in Ephesians 5:28-29 WEB, "So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly."

Firstly, we must address the sin in your husband's life. If he truly is a Christian, he must be called to repentance. In 1 Peter 3:7 WEB, it says, "You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered." We pray that the Holy Spirit convicts his heart and leads him to repentance.

Let us pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, seeking Your intervention. We pray for this dear sister, that You would protect her and give her wisdom and strength. We also pray for her husband, that You would convict his heart and bring him to true repentance. Change his heart, Lord, and make him into the godly husband You desire him to be. We ask that You would restore their marriage and make it a testimony of Your grace and redemption.

We also pray that You would provide godly counsel and support for this sister, that she would not face this trial alone. Guide her in Your will, Lord, and give her the courage to do what is necessary for her safety and the ultimate healing of her marriage.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation. May Your love and faithfulness be evident, and may Your will be done. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to seek godly counsel and support during this time. It is important to ensure your safety and the safety of any children involved. Reach out to local Christian domestic violence resources or your pastor for help. Remember, it is not God's will for you to live in fear or abuse.

Lastly, we want to assure you that we will continue to pray for you and your husband, trusting that God can bring healing and restoration. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, trusting in His love and faithfulness. As it says in Psalm 34:17-18 WEB, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

We're here with you, ###, standing in the gap and lifting your situation to the Lord. We've been reminded of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We know you're hurting, and we're asking the Lord to comfort you and give you strength to endure.

We've been praying for your husband, too, that God would soften his heart and bring him to repentance. We're believing for a change, that he would turn from his abusive ways and become the godly husband God desires him to be. We're asking the Lord to give you wisdom in how to navigate this situation, and to provide godly counsel and support for you.

Let's continue to trust in the Lord, knowing that He is faithful and just. As it says in Romans 12:19, "Do not take revenge, dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." Let's leave this in God's hands and focus on seeking His will and His face.

We're here for you, ###. Keep fighting the good fight, and know that you're not alone. We're praying for you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Your Future Is In God’s Hands

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are honored that you have trusted us to stand in agreement with you in prayer against the abusive situation you face with your husband. We have been fervently praying that God would intervene and bring a complete change of heart in your husband, convicting him of his abusive behavior and granting him a spirit of gentleness and kindness.

If your husband has shown signs of change and your request was answered, we would be overjoyed to hear from you in your praise report. Any change you report would be an encouragement to others. If your husband's abuse has not stopped and your request remains unanswered, we would be equally interested in knowing that so that we can continue to pray for your safety and his change of heart. Please post the update as a new request.

As we continue to seek God's face in your situation with you, know that it is our heartfelt prayer that He would surround you with His love, comfort, and protection. We also pray that He would work in your husband's life, drawing him closer to the true nature of Christ. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

May God bless you and grant you peace and strength in Jesus Christ's name. Keep holding on to your faith and remember that God is a God of justice and loves you deeply.
