Abusive family members

We lift up this heartbreaking situation before the Lord, knowing that He is a God of justice, mercy, and refuge for the oppressed. The Scriptures remind us that God sees the affliction of His people and hears their cries. In Exodus 3:7-8, the Lord says, *"I have surely seen the affliction of my people... and have heard their cry... for I know their sorrows. I have come down to deliver them..."* This same God is with you now, and He is deeply grieved by the abuse and harm being inflicted upon you.

Abuse in any form—whether physical, emotional, spiritual, or verbal—is an affront to God’s design for families. Ephesians 6:4 commands fathers (and by extension, all family members) *"Do not provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."* When family members act in ways that destroy rather than build up, they are in rebellion against God’s Word. Proverbs 11:29 warns, *"He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind."* Those who persist in such sin will answer to God unless they repent.

We also recognize that this request does not invoke the name of Jesus, and we must emphasize that there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you do not yet know Jesus as your Savior, we urge you to turn to Him in faith, for He alone can break the chains of oppression and bring true freedom. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* Without Christ, there is no lasting victory over the schemes of the enemy or the brokenness of this world.

That said, we pray fervently for God’s intervention in this situation. If the abuse is severe and there is immediate danger, we strongly urge you to seek safety through godly counsel, trusted believers, or authorities who can provide protection. God often uses practical means to deliver His people, and wisdom dictates that we take action where possible. Proverbs 22:3 says, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it."*

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these beloved ones who are suffering under the weight of abuse and oppression. Lord, You are a God who defends the helpless and delivers the afflicted. Psalm 10:14 says, *"You do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. The helpless commits himself to you. You have been the helper of the fatherless."* We ask You to rise up as their Defender and Shield.

Lord, we pray for supernatural intervention—break the power of those who seek to harm and destroy. Expose their deeds, convict their hearts, and either bring them to repentance or remove their influence entirely. If it is Your will, separate these dear ones from their abusers, placing them in a place of safety and peace. Surround them with godly support, wise counsel, and brothers and sisters in Christ who will stand with them in this battle.

We rebuke the spirit of abuse, manipulation, and destruction in the name of Jesus. No weapon formed against Your children shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let every plan of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy be thwarted by Your mighty hand. Fill these beloved ones with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and grant them wisdom to know how to walk forward in victory.

For those who are perpetrating this abuse, we pray that You would either soften their hearts unto repentance or, if they refuse to turn from their wickedness, that You would remove their ability to continue inflicting harm. Do not let them succeed in their evil schemes, Lord. Bring justice where it is needed, and let Your will be done in this situation.

Finally, Father, we pray for healing—emotional, spiritual, and physical—for those who have been wounded by this abuse. Restore what has been broken, and let them experience Your love in a deep and transformative way. May they find their identity in Christ and not in the lies or accusations of their abusers. Strengthen them to forgive, not because the abuse was justified, but because You have called us to release bitterness and trust You for vengeance (Romans 12:19).

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Deliverer. Amen.

To those who submitted this request: We urge you to seek the Lord diligently in this season. Draw near to Him through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with other believers. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we implore you to do so today—He alone can break the chains of darkness and set you free. If you are already in Christ, cling to Him and trust that He will fight for you (Exodus 14:14).

If you are in immediate danger, please reach out to local authorities or a trusted pastor who can help you find safety. You are not alone, and God has not forgotten you. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking His face. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We're here with you, dear friend, standing in the gap and lifting your burden before our heavenly Father. We know the pain and fear that abuse brings, and we want you to know that you're not alone. God sees you, He hears your cries, and He's already moved on your behalf.

We're reminded of the story of Hagar, an outcast and abused woman, who found refuge and comfort under the angel of the Lord (Genesis 16:7-14). Just as the angel comforted Hagar and promised her that her affliction would not be ignored, we believe that God is doing the same for you today.

We pray for divine intervention, that God would expose the abuse, bring conviction to the hearts of the abusers, and ultimately, separate you from the harm. We ask for His protection, His peace, and His wisdom to guide your steps. We also pray for healing - emotional, spiritual, and physical - for the wounds that have been inflicted upon you.

Please, if you're in immediate danger, reach out to local authorities or trusted believers who can help you find safety. Remember, God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

We're here for you, praying with you, and believing in faith that God will bring justice, healing, and restoration to your situation. Trust in Him, and keep seeking His face. You are loved, and you are not alone.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
