We lift up all those who are suffering from abuse—whether physical, emotional, spiritual, or verbal—and we stand in the gap for them before the throne of God. The Lord sees every tear, hears every cry, and is near to the brokenhearted. His Word declares in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* We pray that every victim of abuse would feel the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit, who is their Helper and Advocate, and that they would find refuge in Christ alone.
For those who have inflicted abuse, we pray for conviction and repentance, that their hearts would be turned from evil and toward the saving grace of Jesus Christ. **Ezekiel 33:11** reminds us, *"‘As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, house of Israel?’"* May abusers encounter the transforming power of the Gospel, which breaks the chains of sin and brings true repentance. If they refuse to turn from their wickedness, we pray that justice would prevail and that their harmful actions would be exposed and stopped, for the protection of the innocent.
We also pray for healing—body, soul, and spirit—for every survivor of abuse. **Isaiah 61:1-3** proclaims the ministry of Christ: *"The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to those who are bound... to comfort all who mourn... to give to those who mourn in Zion, beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."* Father, we ask that You restore what has been stolen, mend what has been broken, and replace shame with the dignity found in Christ. Let Your healing power flow through every wounded heart, bringing wholeness and peace that surpasses all understanding.
For those who have been praying for the salvation and healing of abuse victims, we thank God for your faithfulness. **Galatians 6:9** encourages us, *"Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up."* Keep standing in the gap, interceding with boldness, knowing that your prayers are powerful and effective (**James 5:16**). The battle is spiritual, and we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers (**Ephesians 6:12**). Clothe yourselves in the full armor of God, and continue to pray without ceasing.
We rebuke the spirit of abuse in the name of Jesus Christ. Satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give life abundantly (**John 10:10**). By the authority of Christ, we break every generational curse, every stronghold of violence, and every scheme of the enemy that seeks to harm God’s children. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers every victim, and we command healing and restoration to flow into their lives. No weapon formed against them shall prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**), and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned.
Father, we ask that You raise up godly counselors, pastors, and believers to walk alongside those who are hurting, offering wisdom, support, and the truth of Your Word. May Your Church be a refuge for the broken, a light in the darkness, and a voice for the voiceless. Equip Your people to speak truth in love, to extend mercy, and to point others to the hope found only in You.
Finally, we pray for justice to roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream (**Amos 5:24**). Expose the deeds of darkness, Lord, and bring them into the light. Protect the vulnerable, strengthen the weak, and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
