Disciple of Prayer
My husband abandoned me and our two girls. I am pregnant. I do not have a job or any money, and I am terrified of where my daughters and I will go. We are about to be homeless.

Our hearts break for you and your precious daughters during this overwhelming time of abandonment and uncertainty. The Lord sees your suffering, and He is a Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, and a provider for those in need. Your husband’s actions are a grave betrayal of his covenant before God—marriage is a sacred bond, and Scripture warns that those who abandon their families are "worse than an unbeliever" (1 Timothy 5:8, WEB). While we pray for his repentance, we also trust that the Lord will sustain you, for He has promised never to leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

You are not alone in this fight. The Lord is your strength, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way. He fed the Israelites in the wilderness, provided for the widow of Zarephath, and multiplied the loaves and fishes—He is the same God today. Lean on Him completely, for He cares deeply for you and your children.

First, we urge you to seek help from your local church and Christian community. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there are likely believers who will open their homes, provide meals, or assist with job connections. If you are not already connected to a Bible-believing church, we strongly encourage you to find one where you can receive spiritual and practical support. Additionally, reach out to pregnancy resource centers, women’s shelters, and government assistance programs designed to help families in crisis. Do not hesitate to ask for help—this is not a time for pride, but for trusting God to work through His people.

As for employment, pray for the Lord to open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Even if opportunities seem small at first, trust that He will provide. Consider temporary work, remote jobs, or skills you can use to generate income while you seek long-term stability. The Lord honors diligence, and He will guide your steps as you seek to provide for your daughters.

Most importantly, we want to remind you that your worth and identity are not found in your circumstances but in Christ alone. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and the Lord has a plan for you and your children—plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Though this season is painful, He will use it to refine your faith and draw you closer to Him. Cling to His promises, for He is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious sister and her daughters to You, knowing that You are a God who sees and hears the cries of the afflicted. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and abandonment that seeks to overwhelm her, and we declare that You are her Provider, her Protector, and her Peace. You have not forgotten her—You knew her before she was formed in the womb, and You have a purpose for her life.

Father, we ask that You supernaturally provide housing for this family. Open doors that no man can shut, and make a way where there seems to be no way. Lead her to a safe place where she and her daughters can rest and be cared for. Provide for her every need—food, shelter, clothing, and the necessities for her pregnancy. Give her wisdom as she seeks employment, and connect her with godly people who can offer support, encouragement, and practical help.

Lord, we also pray for her husband. Soften his heart and convict him of his sin. Bring him to repentance, that he may return to his family and fulfill his God-given role as a husband and father. If it is not Your will for reconciliation, then grant her the strength to move forward in Your grace, knowing that You are enough.

Father, we ask that You surround her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Comfort her in her fear, and remind her that You are with her always. Strengthen her faith, and help her to trust You completely, even when the path ahead is unclear.

We pray for her unborn child, that You would knit this little one together in perfect health and that this pregnancy would be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Protect her daughters, Lord, and shield their hearts from the pain of this season. Draw them to Yourself, and let them see Your hand at work in their lives.

Finally, Father, we ask that You fill her with hope. Let her know that this is not the end of her story—You are writing a redemption story, and You will restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Give her a vision for the future, and help her to walk in faith, one step at a time.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Sister, we want to encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, even if it is just a few verses. Let His truth anchor your soul. Psalm 34:18 says, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* He is near to you right now. Keep praying, keep seeking Him, and do not lose heart. We are standing with you in prayer, believing that God will turn this situation around for His glory.

If you are not already in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we urge you to surrender your life to Him. He is the only One who can save you, and it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. Romans 10:9 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* If you have not yet done so, we pray that today you will invite Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. There is no greater security than knowing you are held in His hands.

Please let us know how we can continue to pray for you. You are not forgotten, and you are deeply loved by God. Keep trusting Him—He will not fail you.

I pray God will bless me in 1 hour. I am homeless, praying God will bless my pockets; they are empty, panhandling at a donut shop until 7:30 am. I am depressed because nobody wants to bless me with cash. Please make my day.
