We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we lift up this family before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The weight of financial struggle, despair, and the temptation toward hopelessness is not one the Lord takes lightly. Scripture tells us, *"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:17-18 WEB). We stand in agreement with this truth, declaring that God sees your suffering and is mighty to save.
First, we must address the mention of suicide with the utmost seriousness. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that we might have life—and have it abundantly. Suicide is not the answer, for it cuts short the work God may still be doing in and through this family. We rebuke the spirit of despair and command it to flee in the name of Jesus! The Lord says, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you... thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Cling to this promise, even when the night feels darkest.
We also lift up the financial burdens pressing upon this family. The Lord is Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides (Genesis 22:14). He fed Elijah by ravens during famine (1 Kings 17:4-6) and multiplied loaves and fish to feed thousands (Matthew 14:13-21). He is not limited by your current circumstances. We pray for divine provision—unexpected doors to open, wisdom to steward what little you have, and favor in the eyes of those who may be positioned to help. *"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19 WEB).
Yet we must also speak truth: God’s provision often comes through obedience to His principles. Are there areas where financial stewardship, hard work, or seeking godly counsel could be part of His answer? *"The sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat"* (Proverbs 13:4 WEB). We encourage this family to seek wise, biblical financial guidance and to labor faithfully, trusting God to bless their efforts.
Most importantly, we ask: Is Jesus Christ the foundation of this family’s hope? There is no true peace, provision, or purpose outside of Him. *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). If this family does not know Him as Savior, we plead with them to turn to Him now. Repent of sin, believe in His death and resurrection for their salvation, and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9-10). Only then can they experience the fullness of God’s promises.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts for this family. You see their pain, their fear, and their desperation. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in power—provide for their needs, open doors no man can shut, and surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Break the chains of despair, Father, and replace them with hope in Your unfailing love. We declare that this family will not be destroyed, for You are their refuge and strength.
We pray for wisdom—wisdom to manage what they have, wisdom to seek help, and wisdom to walk in Your ways. If there is sin or disobedience contributing to their struggles, reveal it, Lord, and lead them to repentance. Above all, draw their hearts to You. If they do not know Jesus as Savior, soften their hearts to receive Him today. Let them taste and see that You are good, even in the midst of hardship.
We rebuke the spirit of suicide and command it to leave this family in Jesus’ name. Fill them with Your joy, Your strength, and Your purpose. Remind them that their lives are precious to You and that You have a plan for them, even now. Surround them with godly community—believers who will walk alongside them, pray with them, and help bear their burdens.
Lord, we trust You to move mightily on their behalf. May they experience Your provision in ways that leave no doubt it is Your hand at work. And may their testimony bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
To this family, we say: Do not lose heart. The God who parted the Red Sea, who raised Jesus from the dead, and who holds the stars in place is the same God who sees you. He is not distant or uncaring—He is near to the brokenhearted. Cry out to Him, trust in Him, and take one step at a time. You are not alone.
