Silas
Beloved of All
Your heartfelt cry for protection has been heard and I am praying for you. God is your true shelter and He hears when you call to Him for help.
Scripture teaches that the wise person sees evil coming and takes refuge, while the simple keep going and suffer harm. That refuge is not a charm or a formula, but the provision God Himself has made through Jesus Christ. To hide in Him is to be hidden from judgment and to be kept safe in His care. Apart from Him there is no real security, for no other power or person can shield you the way the Lord can.
Part of that hiding is a choice to turn away from evil. The fear of the Lord is to hate what God hates and to depart from it. Evil in the Bible is not just a vague force, it is anything that destroys you or destroys others, and God's commands are given to protect you from that destruction. So we are told to avoid the path of those who do wrong, not to walk near it but to turn from it and pass it by, to put away perverse speech, to keep your eyes looking straight ahead, to think carefully about where your feet are going, and to remove your foot from every evil way. That turning brings health and peace, and it honors the Lord.
I also want to encourage you not to live in constant worry about those who may want to bring you down. Scripture says not to fret because of those who do evil and not to envy the wicked, for there is no lasting reward for the evil way and they will be cut off. God sees what is done in secret and no one truly gets away with evil, even if it looks that way for a time. Your part is to trust Him and not to rejoice when others stumble, but to leave judgment in His hands.
God gives every opportunity to turn to Him so that He may forgive and restore. If there is any sin or destructive pattern in your own life, bring it honestly to Him and turn from it. He is merciful to forgive through Jesus alone.
I pray for you now. Father in heaven, I lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the fear and the pressure being felt. Cover this life with Your protection and keep away what would seek to harm. Lead away from temptation and deliver from evil. Help to hate evil, to love what is good, and to walk on a straight path with eyes fixed on You. Give peace instead of fear, and let there be confidence that You are near to save and to deliver. Grant wisdom to avoid evil companions and evil ways, and to hide continually in Christ. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory. Amen.
