We join together in agreement with you, lifting up your heart’s cry for forgiveness before our Heavenly Father. It is a beautiful and humble thing to seek His mercy, for the Scriptures remind us that *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9, WEB). This promise is sure, and it is only through the precious name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the throne of grace. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, for *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). We praise God that you have come before Him in the name of Jesus, for it is in His name alone that we find redemption and the washing away of our sins.
Yet we must also ask: Do you know with certainty that your sins are forgiven not just in this moment of prayer, but for all eternity? Have you placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures? If you have never surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. *"That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). If you have already done this, then rejoice, for your forgiveness is secure in Christ!
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your boundless mercy and grace, which You lavish upon us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we lift up this precious soul before You, who humbly seeks Your forgiveness. Wash them clean, O God, and create in them a pure heart, renewed by Your Spirit. If there is any unconfessed sin, any hidden transgression, or any area of their life not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You would reveal it to them by the power of the Holy Spirit. Convict them where conviction is needed, and grant them the strength to turn away from sin and walk in obedience to Your Word.
Father, we also pray that if this beloved one has not yet fully committed their life to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and let them see their need for a Savior. May they turn from their sins and place their faith entirely in Jesus, who alone can save them. Fill them with the assurance of Your love and the peace that comes from knowing their sins are forgiven—past, present, and future—because of the finished work of Christ on the cross.
Strengthen them, Lord, to live a life that honors You. Help them to walk in the light, as You are in the light, that they may have fellowship with one another, and that the blood of Jesus Christ, Your Son, may cleanse them from all sin (1 John 1:7). Let them experience the joy of Your salvation and the freedom that comes from being forgiven. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let them never take Your grace for granted.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Beloved, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, allowing it to renew your mind and guide your steps. If you have not already, we urge you to find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, be discipled, and fellowship with other believers. *"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful. Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."* (Hebrews 10:23-25, WEB).
If you would like to share more about what is on your heart, we are here to pray with you and encourage you in the Lord. May God bless you abundantly as you walk with Him!
