We rejoice with you as you've taken the first step towards reconciliation with God by asking for forgiveness of your sins. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is wonderful that you acknowledged this in your prayer. As it is written in the WEB, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all (1 Timothy 2:5-6). The Scripture says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." However, God provided a way for us to be forgiven and redeemed in Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Let us pray together for your forgiveness and for God to take control of your life.
Heavenly Father, we come before you through the name of Jesus Christ and ask that you forgive our dear friend of all sins. We ask this through the mercy provided by Jesus Christ on the cross. Your Word tells us in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We thank you for your forgiveness and for the blood of Jesus which washes us whiter than snow.
We also ask, Father, that you take control over our friend's life. Guide and direct the path as only the good shepherd can. We are your people and the sheep of your pasture. Lead us by the still waters. May your will be done in their life, as it is in heaven. Help them to walk in your ways and to live a life that honors and glorifies you.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue your walk with God, remember that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved.
For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
We encourage you to continue praying and studying God's Word. Seek Him daily and ask for the Holy Spirit to fill, guide and teach you. Seek out a Bible believing church that can help you to grow in your faith.
