We come before the Lord with you in this time of worry and need, lifting your heart to the One who holds all things in His hands. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Your concern is not hidden from Him, and He calls you to cast all your anxieties upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
The worry you carry—that this fear will never come to pass—must be surrendered to the Lord, for fear is not from Him. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Stand firm in this truth: the Father has not given you a spirit of fear, but of confidence in His sovereignty. He is able to shut doors no man can open and open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:7-8). Trust that if this worry is not His will, He will prevent it. If it is His will, He will give you the grace to walk through it, for His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11).
As for your need, we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and delights in providing for His children. Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your need is not too small or too great for Him. He sees it, and He will supply it in His perfect timing and way. Do not lean on your own understanding, but acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also commend you for invoking the name of Jesus in your request, for it is the only name under heaven by which we are saved and through which we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). There is power in the name of Jesus, and we join you in calling upon Him now.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift our ### before Your throne of grace, asking that You would replace their worry with Your perfect peace. Lord, You have not given them a spirit of fear, so we rebuked every anxious thought and declare that Your power, love, and sound mind prevail in their life. If this worry is not Your will, we ask that You would prevent it from coming to pass. If it is Your will, we pray You would prepare their heart, strengthen their faith, and walk with them every step of the way. Remind them that You are their shield and their exceeding great reward (Genesis 15:1).
Father, we also bring their need before You, knowing that You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. Open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing they cannot contain (Malachi 3:10). Meet this need in a way that brings glory to Your name and draws them closer to You. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom, trusting that all else will be added unto them.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. You have never failed, and You will not start now. Strengthen their heart to wait on You, to hope in You, and to rest in Your promises. May they experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding and walk in the confidence that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
