A Very Present Help In Trouble
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
The Lord is a very present help in our troubles and He is our refuge, we can run to Him in those times and He will strengthen us according to His word. This is such a wonderful promise and a comfort to know, but when troubles arise in our lives, many times enemy comes with his lies trying to discredit God and His word in our hearts and minds. His tactics are to convince us God's word has no power to deliver us.
If the enemy can get us to entertain such thoughts, he renders us powerless, because he then has robbed our faith which activates God's power in our lives. We can see this in Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Friends we are in a real war and we have been given instructions what to do about these attacks from the enemy. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong hold's; 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
This scripture tell us through God we have weapons that are mighty. What are these weapons? It's God's own word which is a sword against our enemy. When we speak Gods word it does many things, it builds our faith, it helps us to know and receive the truth, then we can cast down those lies, thoughts and imaginations, the enemy has sown, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ
God's word tells us we will be blessed if we trust in the Lord and no good thing will He withhold from those of us who walk uprightly.
Psalm 84:11-12 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
Remember this, when Satan comes with his lies, don't let them take root in your spirit. Cast those thoughts and imaginations down that have been sown immediately and hold to God's word which will give grace and glory and help in your times of trouble.
